Saw them in Pittsburgh with Badflower and Nothing More. Was 10 days before my son's 10th birthday. Lou started talking to us at the merch stand after their set. Signed the copy of Erase the Pain I had just purchased and told us to come back to their stand after the show was over. When we did he presented my son with a concert used, band signed cymbal for his birthday. These guys are just awesome people.

Totally good guys and great music. Met them a few times and they are from my home state only like 30 minutes from me. I bought like 10 tickets for me and some friends to see them at a local venue to introduce people to their music. Had a great time watching them and hanging out with them a little bit too 👍👌🤘🤘🤘

I just read about the band in the paper, and their being local caught my eye so decided to listen to a few songs. The first six songs I listened to all had the same theme, love, unrequited love, rough relationships. That's one topic that has never changed in music. I forget who said it, but he wrote "Every song is a love song". This was the first song I heard that had a different topic. There are some keywords that lead me to believe it's about recovery, and the difficulties. Internal conflict. Not being sure about ones ability to be 100% honest with yourself, sure to succeed or doomed to failure. But the truth is there is no win or lose, but an ongoing game that never ends, and success means never giving up. The only thing I would say to these guys is to keep writing what you know, go into details, but allow the poetry to be somewhat vague. And most importantly, no matter how hard it is, never disclose what the song is about!! Why not? The greatest songs ever written are interpreted. They have different meanings to everyone who hears them. So don't worry too much about people understanding you, because your song will let them understand themselves. For example, if you write a song about recovering from drugs, someone else may interpret it as a love song, someone else as a religious awakening, someone else as an antiwar song. Once you disclose what this song is about you lose those people who are now disappointed that this song is not what they thought it was. You guys sound really good, just keep writing and working hard at your craft! Money is important, but look for brakes and gigs to give you time to write. I always felt that the best places to write are alone in a car in the middle of the night, and alone hotel rooms. The details can be worked out later alone and finally in a group to make it a better song, but I would swear that I am right about being alone to start the songs concept. Of course, you've also had writing teams, the most famous being Lennon-McCartney, And if you are lucky enough to have their talent, and almost compete with each other as they bounce ideas back-and-forth to combine their thoughts into great lyrics, all you might need is an engineer with a great ear and producer who knows music, all music. I keep coming back to this song. The whole song resonates with me and what I'm going through right now. I put on a fake smile just to hide all the dirt and secrets I have. I feel as I'm going to have a breakdown any moment. I just want peace and serenity that I'd do anything even if I have to go to the hospital. It's all fucked up. Nick Springer I agree with the last half of the last sentence, but I really thought Mind Games was shit. Their latest album, while confusing at times did have great songs like the ones you mentioned but I'd argue that Dark, Aggression, and Personal are the best songs songs they've written. The other songs aren't bad either, but don't stand out as much. Cold Heart was just very Bring Me The Horizon-like.
