Man... It's both rough to hear and awesome just how spiteful the lyrics and feeling of this album is. They nailed the feeling of betrayal of self and almost complete denouncement of belief at points. You can tell some of it came from a rough place... With all that's going on in the world and with specific things Andrew/bandmates were going through last few years, it kinda makes sense that it feels so raw at times. It's not uncommon to have the feelings of just "Why is everything going so wrong for me? When I have done all I can to be better." I'd even say it's a common theme in this genre, but to hear it from Eidola... After three conceptual albums of soul searching and discovery of self, it's so much more impactful. I'm so curious to hear the lyrics/style for the second half album later this year, and specifically how it consolidates and reconciles things.

One saying that my father taught me is "Neither good nor bad things last forever", and it's damn true. This album is one of the biggest contenders for AOTY for sure man!

This quickly became my favorite song. I love everything about it. The chant has powerful meaning. The piano into the heavy guitar. Wells vocals are beautiful, but devastating. I love this album so much

Bobby Hill chants it in an episode of King of the Hill. He is canonically a Lama.

The first time I heard this I knew it was my favourite song on the album. Honestly, when I saw the title had "Temple" in it, I knew then. Congrats Eidola, you constantly evolve and find new ways to impress. I cannot wait for the follow up to this masterpiece. See you in Buffalo.

My favorite song on the album by a lot, I really would love to see more of this longer-form proggy stuff, much like early Eidola but heavier.

This album is going to be something to me for a very long time. This is my favorite song on it, and partly for the Alan Watts sample, but also because it speaks to something I can't describe. I have not listened to anything but this album on repeat since it came out (currently day 6). I've been through it about 70 times. Eviscerate is a very accurate name. This album feels every way that I already feel, but intensified and made beautiful instead of being stuck inside of me. I lost a fur child right before this came out and in general I'm Chronically Going Through It™ if you know you know. This band is my go-to when I need to feel safe, listen to something that helps. My favorite band if I might be so bold to pick a favorite.

The whole album is amazing but this one really tops the other tracks. That piano track with Andrew singing sweetly into my ears is perfection.

I knew this album and song specifically needed to be the soundtrack for my next DMT trip once I heard it and saw this visualizer. Finally got around to it and god damn was that a good decision

This might be their best song. Like, the chanting, the piano, the whole band at it's peak. 11/10.

a couple months ago he hinted that the next album (this one) was going to be heavy - "While keeping our core sound, we chose to experiment with a new producer, 7 string guitars, deep drop tunings, and lean into the violence and loss in our lyrical content.”

The beginning guitar riff in this song and then the way the screamed vocals come in reminds me so much of some other song but i cant think of what it is. Does anyone know what im talking about?

I’m pretty sure it’s a motif from the opening of Omni: First Temple but played in a minor key and distorted.
