You guys should do a series where you check in on your risers and fallers from 3+ years ago and see if senior bowl success translates to the NFL I know its hard to tell because draft position and team probably has a ton of bearing on how these guys turn out but it would be fun

Off the top of my head I know most WRs that struggle in the 1 on 1s during the week don't work in the NFL. Most of the WRs that are praised as unguardable thrive in the NFL

I’d say these guys were very accurate in their WR predictions last year. I play fantasy football and I certainly used their assessments when making late round picks and I drafted both Rice and Dell with my last two picks on the “boom or bust” assumption of rookies. They were also very high on both Laporta and Kincaid during the draft process. I both of these gentlemen prioritize honest and fair scouting decisions compared to the “experts” that seem to prefer the “upside” of draft prospects that unfortunately don’t play to the level of their potential. Another fantastic source for assessing WR talent is Steve Smith Sr. I respect the observation from former players who played the same position.

Loved what I saw from Ricky Pearsall, his route running looked so crisp this week. T'Vondre Sweat was good and I was a bit surprised by his burst at his size, but like you said, him not weighing in is a bit concerning. And then there are the obvious studs: Roman Wilson, Quinyon Mitchell, Jackson Powers-Johnson, etc. Always love seeing a Senior Bowl riser -- between this and the Combine, it's my favorite time of the year. Love the whole draft podcast and the NFLSE podcast makes it that much more fun. On another note, I'd like to thank the two of you for taking the time to talk to me in Mobile. It truly meant a lot to me. You guys truly have my dream jobs and if you have any tips on how to be PFF's lead draft analyst or an NBC/SNY analyst, I'd love to hear.

@tvtda1
@tvtda1 3 ай бұрын
it's just worth noting the issue with Penix is the mechanical unreliability or like instability of his mechanics this week, he's mostly Texas game Penix, every few throws Michigan game Penix comes out and that's the issue, he's so streaky. Bo is meh and ehh but like with Bo i at least know what the problem is, and that the issue is the feet. granted if he's really capable of be consistent in the lower body is a fair question itself, but thats different with Penix where his mechanics up top are so fragile and i'm afraid it will break down at any minute. Bo is a better athlete too, interestingly enough what gets lost in all that is spencer rattler is a better thrower of the football than both of them and Joe Milton is more gifted. so i don't know if anyone's really separating from each other. everyone is kinda slinging it tbf.

Wow your take on Bo Nix is exactly opposite of evaluations written by others regarding him. An article today said he was the biggest drop of the QB's. His play was described as slow on his reads and not making good progressions and missing his targets on his long throws. They said he looked sluggish yesterday in all of his play calling...Somehow I suggest you folks and those folks get together since the evaluations are so far apart on your evaluations..

So you are not the first person to point this out, and I went back and watched his first two days and really paid more attention to him on day three and he did struggle more than I relayed in this video. He was playing tight (just wasn't loose), but he had some really nice throws on day three. Not as strong of a week as I said here, but still had good moments through three days

@tvtda1
@tvtda1 3 ай бұрын
he's interesting just because i think about evolution of OL prospect criteria and i wonder if thats the one position we shouldn't care about age and upside 9 times out of 10. there's a bunch of dudes like him 4 year starters. a lot of reps and hey have a better shot than most people would give them simply if they're just tough enough and nasty enough to get the job done. vs a guy like Tyler Guyton where there's buzz, and like everyone will say hes talented and take the upside but he's also crazy raw, untested, ur basically betting or ur strength and conditioning coach to fill in the blank with him and i don't love it because that's also the same profile of Trevor penning semi, granted in this case those are different players but you get what i mean like, maybe Christian Jones ceiling is lower but his floor is actually more playable than a guyton somewhat.

I'm thinking the Eagles might like to get Guyton into Stoutland U to replace Lane in a few years. That would mean at 50 and 54 an LB and CB. I could see Cooper still being there. But what CB would you think in that range? Or maybe better to go CB at 22 then OT in the 2nd? Or something else? 2nd round WR?
