A tip I learned from someone who was in the testing room with me: yes it’s typical to bubble in C all the way down when you’re guessing, but ACT expects that so they’re less likely to put the possible correct answer there. So bubble in A or D when you’re guessing. You’ll have a better chance of getting the correct answer that way.

Marh tip: the answers for all math questions are listed greatest to least, or vise versa. Plug and chug "C". If the answer is lower, try the least... aka "A" or "E". If it's neither then it's corresponding "B" or "D".
@frozenvolcano859
@frozenvolcano859 Жыл бұрын
@@ja416 yeayea- Question: 3x=15. What is x? A) 2 B) 3 C) 4 D) 5 E) 6 Lets pretend we didn't know the answer to this. You would first start with C. (4) 3(4) doesn't equal 15, it equals 12. Now we know C is less than 15, we will now try E (6) 3(6) also does not equal 15, it equals 18. So if C is less than the answer and E is more than the answer, then In-between must be answer (D) (5) This stradegy only works faster than the human mind if the problem is harder to figure out, for example (14x^2)/(5-2X)=30.5 Also though, you could use a function on calculators like the TI-84 Plus to calculate this. • Press the Math Button, then press the up arrow on the white arrow wheel. (You should see an option called Numeric Solver) • Press enter 2 boxes show up. The 1st box is one side of the equation, the other box is on the other side of the equation. So in reality it looks like this Box1 = Box2 You can watch a video on YT that can explain it better than I can.

I am taking the ACT tomorrow and the hardest thing for me is hearing noises around me. It especially bothers me on the reading section. I made an 18 on reading last time because I just could not focus on it. This time around I’m gonna take my ADHD medication + get good sleep + remember to breathe deeply so I don’t get that fast heartbeat and overwhelming anger feeling 😁 also next time i take the ACT, i should be getting accommodations! my goal is very ambitious, but i really wanna get a 36. I will settle for a 30 though edit: MY READING WAS MY HIGHEST SCORE!! i bumped up my overall score to a 26 and my reading score to a 33!

Thank you so much for the genuine help! I've taken the ACT a few times by now and one of the most helpful tips is to go in very comfortable with the test itself. Being anxious or fearful during the test can significantly reduce accuracy, and fear often times comes from the unknown. So basically, get comfortable with the ACT! While in the car on the way there, it's helpful to just remind yourself: "I know what to expect and I'm going to try my best". Good luck to all the test takers out there! Praying for you guys!

Don't trust this guy. He called the ACT, "the ACT test". 🤦 Notice how he monetized his channel? You should trust reputable tutors like us who have been around for 10-15 years. These teenagers on KZbin are looking to profit off of your naiveté. We have your best interests in mind. He's trying to market himself over KZbin, while we've been employed by the country's leading boutique test prep companies for years and regularly increase students' SAT and ACT scores by two hundred and fifteen points respectively.

Thank you for your honesty, and congrats on getting a 36!! Very impressive! I think this video really helped and I am taking the ACT TOMORROW!! :O My tip: Bubble the same letter if you have to guess at the end. I guessed all A's on my first test. Do not guess C, it's too common and the test writers know that. Do not bubble random letters, you have a better chance of getting more right if you guess the same letter.

Here is my ACT story. I've taken ACT 4x and about to take it a fifth. First time, I took it in my junior year and got a 19. Second time in my junior year, I got a 20. Third time in my junior year, I got a 22, but notably, I got my reading and English up by 5-6 pts to 25 and 26 respectively. Problem is my math and science remained both at 19 for the past three tests. The last test I took though, I got a 23. English went down by one, reading went down by 4... but my math went up by 3 and science went up by 6!!! If my reading hadn't gone down and my English and reading had at least stayed the same, I would've gotten a 25, which is what I am currently aiming for. I take it in four days and my goal is between a 27-30, a 36 would be lovely, but for me as a person who struggles to take tests, it's most likely not realistic, but hey you never know. One tip Ik is that reading and science test the same skill and they shouldn't be but at max 1 pts apart. I still haven't gotten there but hopefully soon! Wish me luck and I'll be back with my new score soon :)

Taking mine in 2 days. My overall goal is to get my score to at least 32. Although I've done a lot of studying and practice I don't expect to do great on this one. I'm prepared to completely fail and I'm fine with that. I'm seeing this first one as a trial run for me, through this I will learn how to A. Pace myself, and B. Learn how to prepare better. I plan on taking it as many times as I need to until I meet my goal. That's what's great about this test. You can take it as many times as you would like and then choose what test to show the colleges you're applying to. You just have to opt out of the program that automatically sends the scores to them. Knowing that has caused me to be a lot less nervous, which in turn will hopefully help me during my future ACT's.

Although I don't have to take the test this year, this video was *really* helpful! Honestly, the English and (most) of the Math questions are pretty easy, and being an IB student I'm used to data being provided and being asked to analyze it + the ACT seems a little bit more fun compared to the SAT lol. I'd like to add that studying the night before (in most cases) does very little to actually improve how you do on a test, especially for skill-based questions. You don't just develop that skill the day before, at least in my personal experience. Good video!

A tip I learned is that, if you are going to wait til the end to bubble ur answers, use the last 5-10 mins to bubble in. When they give u a 5 min warning, stop doing the questions and start bubbling and once you finish and have a good amount of time left do a couple more questions and guess the remaining ones. (learned this the hard way)

In July, I tried again and got a 30. I’m hoping for a 34, so I tried two more times during summer after Junior year and during my Senior year. Both times, I got a 31. Hoping for the best! Ive personally found that downing a monster and munching down on the peppermints they give you helps a ton, mainly because the caffeine kicks in around the last 2 tests and helps yoy maintain your energy. Also, TAKE ANY ADVANTAGE YOU CAN GET! This isnt a test about "honor and fairness", and if you minor ADHD gives you 30 extra minutes? Definitely steal that. Im a low income child, and i get 3 total free tests per year plus administrative support with stress due to my autism, and i 100% dont require either, but im definitely stealing amy edge i can get.

I'm resting at a 21 rn, and I came for the math tips since it's a 18 rn, but my tips as an autistic person taking it at least are: Don't let science intimidate you, I found it mainly to be just graphs and pictures. If the research topic disinterests you, plug something else in to be engaged Read the question first, then the first 2 paragraphs, then the the last 2, then skim the rest. Mark unknown words, underline details that just seem funny to you. The english portion will never match stories or how you talk. Pretend a robot wrote it. It is stiff. It is concise. It will get annoying. Math.. Your calculator is your best friend And finally, study however works in your head. Need to study all month? Do it. Study in your car on the way there? Put on a test prep audio and listen on the way? Need noise? Go to a playground. Music? Spotify. Need to sleep on it? Cup of tea at 11pm after an hr of studying will help. Make sure to eat a wakeup snack take the label off your water bottle, grab a jacket, and breathe. You've got this
