Hi Everyone,
My solo Rishikesh trip vlog is finally out. I personally love everything about this trip, I enjoyed my 1st hostel experience in #shalomsbackpacker, also enjoyed my first hitchhiking, Rishikesh is more than just a place, watching the sunset at the banks of Ganga, near Ghats is always a pleasure, I did meditation, trekking to the waterfall and what not.
Travelling Solo has the power to transform us fundamentally. It empowers us, makes us feel good, and shows positive effects on mental and physical health. So, take a break from our daily routine and explore new places alone. Also, the experience of exploring places alone is more important than the destination itself.
How to Reach Rishikesh
By Bus-
The bus is always a good option to reach Rishikesh, no matter you are solo or in a group. You can take a bus from ISBT or from Anand vihar. It will take approx 6 hours for the Rishikesh main bus stop, from here you can take a private taxi, auto or sharing auto to reach Laxman Jhula or the exact point where you want to go.
By Car -
Delhi to Rishikesh by car is also a good option for hassle-free travelling.
It's a 6 to 7 hours journey.
- By Flight -
The nearest airport around Rishikesh is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun that is located at a distance of 35 km. Regular flights at the airport are available. It is purely a domestic airport and from here you can take a private cab which will take around 1 hour to reach Rishikesh.
By Rail-
The nearest railway station is only Haridwar Railway Station. You can easily reach Rishikesh by hiring a car from Haridwar railway station. Haridwar is well connected to all major cities and towns so people can reach this place comfortably.
ACCOMMODATION IN RISHIKESH
There are many fantastic places available to stay in Rishikesh - from luxurious resorts, hotels to budget hostels that make stay comfortable and safe. To go for budgeted and friendlier accommodation, you can choose hostels. There are many hostels that offer women-only dorms for women solo travellers. You can choose from Hostels like- Shalomes backpacker, Zostel, Shiv Shakti, Live Free, etc. Make sure to do an advance booking to avoid last-minute chaos.
Food-
There are many amazing food joints are available in Rishikesh. From fancy cafes to very budget-friendly Indian restaurants, so it's totally up to you, what you want to eat and what's your budget. There are some Italian cafes, german bakeries and amazing cafes like - Freedom cafe, buddha cafe, and tat cafe, where you can enjoy your food and Ganga view.
