Rising Damp in walls below a house in Sydney

This video is a clear display of what happens when you have rising damp follow your walls in your house.
When you watch the video you will see that water is coming up through the fittings and evaporating on the surface of the piers and the subterranean walls.
Many people think that installing sub floor ventilation will help remedy this problem but it will actually speed up the evaporation process and deteriorate your house faster.
Because more water is being pulled up into the wall from below (similar to the mechanisms of osmosis or entropy) it's also bringing more salt with it which deteriorates the wall faster meaning you have further damage to your house in the long term.
