This jet feels surprisingly good to fly for a relatively early tier plane, and with IEWS, it has a little niche at that level as well, sometimes, all you need is standard missiles, and it's got a nice payload for them as well!

Mitsubishi F-2A Super Kai - 2005 proposal to modernize the F-2A "Viper Zero", the Japanese cousin of the F-16 as a multi-role support fighter. The biggest changes are new weapons, Lockheed Martin Sniper XR sight and CFT tanks. From the outside, Super Kai resembles the later versions of the F-16, i.e. Block 52+ (used, among others, in Greece and Poland), Block 60/62 (used in the UAE Air Force), Block 70/72 Viper and the F-21 proposed to India. In Ace Combat 7, the F-2A and F-2A Super Kai combines the basic weapons, i.e. the JM61A1 Vulcan cannon, and the AAM-3 missiles, and the skin in the form of a typical camouflage for the F-2A in JASDF. As a special weapon, the F-2A uses ASM-2 anti-ship missiles, AIM-7 Sparrow missiles and a JLAU-3/A unguided rocket launcher with JM151 missiles. The skins are the khaki camouflage of the first prototype of the F-2A, the color of the 6th JASDF Tactical Fighter Squadron for the 60th anniversary of the unit and "Nagase". The "Eisgovel" and "Emmeria" squadron skins should be available in the future. The F-2A Super Kai uses Mach 3 anti-ship ASM-3 anti-ship missiles as a special weapon, six AAM-4B missiles and a suspended container with an AN/ALQ-131 or 184 jammer. The skins are "Have Glass" and two completely new skins, including "tiger skin" used by the demonstration team of the Polish Air Force. The Polish Air Force has been using the F-16 since 2006. Why has the Super Kai project not been implemented? Probably due to the high cost and the allocation of funds for the ATD-X technology demonstrator and for the purchase of the F-35. The successor to the F-2 will be the fighter created under the F-X program.

I personally never found the IEWS to be that good, ever since it arrived with the Morgan. I mean it's a nice idea, but I think it doesn't buff your missiles enough to really make a difference, at least for my playstyle: 2- and 3-hit targets are still 2- and 3-hit targets, reload time and lock-on range aren't very noticeable and when a missile hits a target with IEWS active, 99% of the times it would've hit anyway; all of this happens even if I completely upgraded missiles. Mind you, I'm not asking for the ESM from the 1st DLC mission, but I want to at least 1-hit kill a MiG-21, dammit!

I can absolutely see this thing being meta in lower cost MP given the IEWS, on top of being very solid to fly. Gets a thumbs up from me! About time we have a non-super plane with IEWS too.

An Interesting aircraft to be sure. It's the First Non-Super plane to have IEWs, which is nice, but it just kind of feels like a better F-2A, which is what it is. Very nice SPWs, though, 6AAM is a great air to air choice.

This game needs some classic attack and fighter aircraft, A4E Skyhawk , A7E Corsair II , A6 intruder , mirage F1 , Mig 27 , Panavia Tornado , F-111 Aardvark F-102 Delta Dagger , F-106 Delta Dart , F-117 Stealth Fighter , Saab Viggen and Draken . Just to name a few. Enough of the futuristic super stealth stuff . These classic aircraft would make AC 7 so much better .

It's a shame. I get the game is Japanese but we already have the F-2A in the game, why add this, an F-2A based on the Block 60, when you could have added the Block 70 to the game? It's more recent and more cutting edge. I don't get it.
