With Daigo trying out Zeku, I think it’s not too unlikely a few players will try him out as well. His improved synergy between his forms should make him more noteworthy

To clarify, only EX run stop happens 1 frame faster. This lets young Zeku consistently combo cr.lp from EX run stop when canceled from target combo or st.hp. Counterhit st.hp and VT dash st.hk canceled into EX run stop let him link a st.mp for target combo. These new combos are not damage optimal for the meter spent, but they have great corner carry. It's now possible to take your opponent corner to corner with 2 bars and VT1 for about 350 damage or so. Since st.hp no longer crush counters, that means counter hit st.hp canceled to transform leaves him at +5 or +6 (I forget), enough for young Zeku's st.mp. After hp.hozanto > transform, you can get lk.koku and EX koku. EX koku does slightly more damage than EX DP, but it has much better oki and corner carry. The second use of VT2 used to fall out of a lot of combos that the first use worked in. So in addition to it being better in neutral, you don't really need to worry about it falling out as much. I wouldn't say it's better than VT1, but I could see it working in a few matchups.

Oz s.Hp (CH) into form change is now +5. so he can good damage punishes if someone whiffs DP or get hit with meaty s.HP...it goes s.HP xx transform xx YZ TC xx Ex Palm xx Hp Hazanto xx Mp Palm, or transform dp, or Oz ex Gram...I love it and my channel is nothing but Zeku Next-Gen tech if you need any advice ...(not to toot my own horn) but some fans in here can tell you I'm one of the strongest online Zeku. Any insight on why Daigo seems to be playing Zeku this season? The guy has always favored characters with a fireball in the past.. it seems like a strange choice.

I think he played Guy here and there in the alpha games so it's not completely out of left field.

Zeku may not have a fireball, but Old Zeku's Grams can somewhat function as one. Perhaps Daigo likes the balance between the two forms.

I really wish they would buff Old Zeku's neutral tools. He is practically a midget in neutral. Most Zekus I play immediately switch to Young Zeku.

Those zekus are bad. And they literally just buffed OZ's neutral tools in this patch. He's legit as a zoner now and his block strings do crazy white and chip damage.

Old zeku is a very good character with a crouching medium punch that can keep people out all game and cancel into v skill into super! Young zeku can definitely be a threat.
