Preliminary impact assessment in a deviation investigation in the pharmaceutical industry is the initial evaluation of the potential consequences of a deviation on product quality, safety, and efficacy to determine the appropriate level of investigation and corrective actions. It is done with the initial observed data and might get changed during final detailed impact assessment. Preliminary impact assessment is important to have proper excalation of major / critical deviations.
