I lost over 50 challenges because of hitting daily drawdown. I have refined my risk mgmt so this will never happen again. My RR is 1:2, my risk is always 1%. My trading hrs are limited to London/NY crossover. I only take trades when i see my setup pattern. If i win the trade i am done for day. If i lose, i look for one more trade then i am done for day, win or lose. I have passed a 50k and two 5ks with this strategy, have not lost any do far. Currently working on two 100k challenges, still in phase 1 on both. Enjoy your videos, have watched all of them.

I have learned that Prop trading is not about making money but about not losing money. Risk management is therefore king. The example: risking 0.25% per trade will take 14 trades in order to lose a 3% daily drawdown account in a day, got me. And should you lose your account in day, doing this, simply means you do not know what you are doing. The first time I listened to this video I found 0.25% to 0.50% is too low because I was risking 0.40% to 0.80% initially. However, I came right back to 0.25% to 0.50% when I saw how daily drawdown is calculated 😂. Needless to say I'm still profitable, patient and can sleep good at night. I'm from the Caribbean so the US to TTD conversion still works in my favour. Will definitely appreciate being chosen and for an additional boost, I'm a 27 year old woman. My husband doesn't trade so this is very unique. 😂😂 Initially I didn't comment because I never won a lucky draw, however if I don't have a ticket I don't have a chance right😅.

My experience with prop firms is not to rush to pass the challenge because that got me in a huge drawdown that takes time to crawl out of. What I have learned is to risk less. Better to be conservative and risk half a percent that not practicing proper risk management and failing challenge after challenge. This video is important because it teaches that slow and steady wins the race through proper risk management.

I have lost a lot of money trading and lost a trading challenge. For prop firms I think the best risk management is to risk 0.5% per trade and I reduce the risk by half each time I lose 4 trades. Such that my loss on the 5th trade will be 0.25 instead of 0.5. This has helped me go past a 20 losing streak. And I got to regain the account at it's original size. It was a great experience.

1. I trade alot on demo account and I notice that there's no emotion on that so I jumped on real account and boom my emotion changes alot I failed 4 consecutive account 3 years ago then I notice that its good for me to be failed so I will see the wrong doing on my trading before I get profitable. 2. best thing i learn in this vedio is 0.25% or 0.50% risk pr trade,because short Stop losses should never be moved away from the market. Be disciplined with yourself, when your stop loss level is touched, get out. If a trade is proving profitable, don't be afraid to track the market.

I think for most strategies a losing streak of more than 7 is not very rare and often occurs. So you saying if someone loses 7 or 14 trades he doesn't know what he is doing sounds kinda misleading. Correct me if I am wrong.

@@theprofitsch I used to trade an MACD strategy from a yt channel. I traded that for 6 months but even on backtests I could only see a 10 percent gain at max. Then I looked and found that there is mostly an engulfing before the macd signal so I have been trading this strategy for 3 months now. And the backtests were great. It may be hindsight bias but I was able to grow a trading challenge to 7 percent then I made a few mistakes(FOMO trades) and had a total 20 losing streak. I have since been able to get back to a 1 percent gain. I backtest the trades I took and each time it shows that the strategy makes money(43% winrate with 1:2 RR) but yeah when the market changes direction there is a big losing streak.

I traded it for 6 months and even on backtests I was not making money, then looked at the trades and found that before the macd signal there is usually an engulfing. So I backtested the strategy and found it working. I was able to grow a challenge to 7 percent( with 0.5 percent risk). Then I made a few FOMO trades and the strategy had a drawdown. I had a 20 losing streak but then I retested the strategy and gained some confidence. Since then I have been able to grow back the account to 1 percent. The strategy works great on trends and the losses are usually only during consolidation/change of trends. I backtested many fx pairs, it worked best on EURUSD, GBPUSD and Indices. Average expectancy was 43% winrate with 1:2 RR, and found about 200 trades in a year on 30 min timeframe.
