The log books in the original Risk of Rain heavily implied that Providence was literally seconds away from getting to the cockpit while Pilot was still sending out SOS signals. So having confirmation that he's alive and that he managed to get to an escape pod is beyond cool, like bro must have gone through hell to get off that ship.

Are you thinking of the Siren’s Call logbook from Risk of Rain 2? Because it was the captain of the Contact Light that was sending out the SOS signals while Providence was causing mayhem, and then he got killed by the Heretic, who then got killed by Providence. Pilot would’ve probably already been long gone.

This hit me harder than Providence's sword. Man, seeing the Dev Thoughts nearly had me out of my seat and this animation was the PERFECT introduction. I especially loved the character design for the Contact Light's captain and the monochrome flash when the escape pod struck Petrichor's surface. It all felt right at home in the Risk of Rain style. I don't even like graphic novels, but to see an RoR comic in this specific artstyle would be beautiful

Personally I'm a bit bummed they aren't continuing more with 2 (I prefer it over 1, it was too clunky for me to play) and I like a lot of the stuff in 2 over the stuff in 1, but more RoR is more RoR lol

I think it’s a variation of “Double Fucking Rainbow Returns” created specifically for the trailer, in the song available in the albums there’s a pause between the little hit of the cymbals and the little sting which isn’t present in the trailer, and while I’m not 100% sure I think some other parts of the song are slightly different too.
