Risk can be used as a tool for destroying plans. We try to administrate risk in ISO 31000 series in order to avoid this phenomena to happen. Following ISO STANDARDS OVER RISK MANAGEMENT AND GUIDE TO MAKE DECISIONS UNDER THE EXAM OF RISK FACTORS. WE MINIMIZE OR TAKE THEM AWAY SO WE CAN DEVELOP PROPERLY.

Thanks for your comment, Monica - that sounds like a great way to take advantage of the information in the ISO Standards. If your organization deals with Information and has a concern about information security, you may enjoy reading ISO 27005 - Information Security Risk Management. I assume you're following your work flow to identify risks. Change management (ISO 9001 - 6.3) can help manage risk here, too.

Certainly, Kareen - thanks for asking! The ISO 31000:2018 Standard suggests for this section that '...A structured and comprehensive approach to risk management contributes to consistent and comparable results...' In other words, for a more effective Risk Management program, you will want to build some sort of 'methodology' so that you are identifying, analyzing and assessing risks consistently. If you use the same technique over and over you'll be able to spot changes in the effectiveness of how you're managing risks (+ or -). By doing these activities (identifying, analyzing and assessing) in a random way, you won't be able to draw any valid conclusions about trends. Comprehensive refers to the 'scope' of your risk management activities - as the scope grows, you're being more 'comprehensive' or complete. I hope that helps, and please keep asking for clarifications!
