have you had a lot of experience with marijuana? if i don’t go overboard i find it puts me in a flow state. i pay attention to detail more deeply and am more relaxed in a flow roll. thanks for making this video! i haven’t seen any other coaches talk about it yet.

I apologize. I just realized I misread your comment. I thought you said "you had a lot of experience with Marijuana," but I reread your comment and you were asking "if I had a lot of experience with marijuana." No I don't have any experience with marijuana, because in my 33 years in the Navy it was not allowed and it is also not legal in San Antonio Texas and since my son is a San Antonio police officer I wouldn't want to be an embarrassment to him by using marijuana. Whether you are intoxicated by alcohol, marijuana or any other drug in your system I think is a bad idea when rolling your reactions and decision making is so critical to both you and your partners health. Many believe your judgement is not impaired by certain drugs, but look at how many drunk drivers kill people and each drunk driver thought at the time that they were sober enough to drive safely.

@@semperfortisjiujitsu Sorry, this mindset is clearly flawed and not based on current science or information available. I would bet there are more dude's showing up stoned in your academy, that if you were to say "no training high on weed" and had 100% compliance, you would have less than a handful of students at best. Maybe that's how you'd prefer it, but I doubt that is the case because you are a business owner and without students you'd have no school.

Brewjitsu, at least in Houston, is basically just an open mat at a brewery. There's no intention of intoxication during rolls. I can get you in touch with the black belt that runs them if you want to discuss more. He's a good guy and would never hold a dangerous event.

I am sure the event is being held and run by well intentioned people. My point was that introducing intoxication into BJJ training is a recipe for potential disaster.

Lol where’s this at? I’m in Houston
@semperfortisjiujitsuАй бұрын
@arielcruz6417 it is a pretty common open mat across the country.

My brother and I roll half in the bag every weekend and the only thing that's been broken is the coffee table

What you gotta do man, is eat LSD before a seminar with a master or grandmaster and drill/roll with as many folks as possible all weekend long. Competition is a different story but I think a reasonable amount of drugs and/or alcohol during the course of normal training is fine 👍
