But the boss didn’t wanna pay and then had two of their members killed, then shipped in a box to them. The two teams would’ve fought, but there’s a timeline out there where these teams would’ve of teamed up and we would’ve gotten a whole lot more of a bizarre adventure

Doppio is a sweet baby boy, and canonically a separate mind and soul from the selfish, power hungry evil that defines Diavolo. (hence why he dies in a seperate body and thus is safe from having to deal with the forever-death)

It would be interesting to see a side story or alternate history with them teaming up. I would love to see the dynamic between the much more intense La squadra and the much more relaxed Bruno's gang. However, it would be really unlikely to join sides, because they had a common enemy, but different goals, which would have clashed after they defeated the boss.
