To be fair, Ristar was pretty much the original Sonic. When they were firsr coming up with ideas for Sonic, they originally envisioned a rabbit that picked things up with his ears, but with the focus shifting to speed they put that concept aside. Ristar was later born from that idea.

I'm loving Brian and his editing, but I also kind of miss the staples each episode had when each of the guys edited episodes. And when stuff was edited in it was like a rare little treat. Now I'm getting desensitized and expecting a bunch of edits and clips and song samples and... I kinda miss playing "guess the editor". I could usually tell by the movie clips or if it was a banging ass hip hop song thrown in.

Ristar was actually supposed to be the original poster-boy for the Sega Genesis, but they made sonic afterwards. I actually like Ristar better, maybe I'm a pleb because it's a bit easier than sonic but I just think the gameplay is much more intuitive. It's definitely one of those hidden gems that not everybody knows of.

I like that game. Some people says it was originally going to be another Sonic game, but its gamplay was turning out too different from the others that it was decided to change the character.

The one with the Velcro was called Video Power of something. Had Johnny Arcade as the host, and oh boy, was he ever entertaining. As for the episode here, while Ristar is quite the delicious game, the good Sonic games are simply better from an objective panoramic stand-point. Sonic is a game made to play and eat with caviar, while Ristar is meant to be played with your typical salty snacks.
