I was living in UK studying abroad for 4 years. Before that, when I was 18 years old, I tried to watch films on DVD with English subtitles even sometimes don’t understand, keep going. I think that’s the most powerful way to learn the English listening skills.😊
Hey, your video popped up on my feed. I love what you're doing. Keep it up! As a person who's lived in US for 25 years, I'll put my two cents here if you don't mind. 1. vocabulary will help you in the long run. It's not a waste. After all, if you don't know what a word means, you're not gonna comprehend it. So my advise is to build your vocabulary as much as you can. 2. To improve your listening skill, you just have to immerse yourself in it. There's no way around it. Be patient. If you put your time & effort into it, it will come. 3. Language is a communication tool. Ditch the notion of English as something you have to study in school. It's a tool to understand the other person.
dont be shay. は大事です。英語をまだなんちゃってなかんじの時にあるアメリカ人いいわれたのが英語圏の人が映画を見て100%理解しているかというと…してない。 日本語をわからない外国人にたいしてかたことでも解ろうとするように、自分達もそうだから恥ずかしがらずに話せばいい、間違っていれば正しい使い方を教えてあげるからと言われたことがある。確かにそれはそうだなぁ実感する
