Esta bella niña es una joya de gran valor artístico. Y su madre, Doña Elisabeth, es un tesoro musical. Esa cuerdas evocan tanto en nuestro santuario de sagradas memorias; esas suaves cuerdas me hacen recordar la dulce voz y sacrificios de mi madre para vernos salir adelante. Recuerdo su alegría cuando obtuve mi primer título universitario; su alegria me elevó a las alturas celestiales. Que Nuestro Señor colme a Doña Elisabeth y a su Niña Rita, de bendiciones. Gracias.

Elisabeth plays the finest accompaniment I've ever heard, she is a very accomplished musician. Rita is one of the most talented vocalists and musicians ever. She is at home with the sensitive Spani ah and Portuguese melodies and is dynamite with jazz music. I am very impressed with her skill for someone so young. I hope to hear more of her as she progresses.

Uff, terrible versión!! ¡Son increíbles, MUJERES! Rita, a vos te amé desde, por ejemplo, Aguas de marzo, en el Palau... y ahora escucharte con tu madre, con esa guitarra que toca fibras muy profundas, que no me pasaba desde la de Atahualpa Yupanqui. Agradezco a la vida estos regalos.

My favorite jazz artist is Chet Baker and this performance really brings me to the same place listening to Chet sing and play trumpet brings me. It's a wonderful feeling or set of feelings, sadness, longing, but also a stubborn joy that sustains us through hard times. This performance was lovely and deeply moving. ❤

I have the feeling about Rita's music making that it somehow works in reverse to many other singer/musicians. Its like the emotion drives what happens musically, rather than the music specifics produces the emotion. I think she so relates to what the music has felt like in the past that that feeling is conjured up first, so the expression of it feels real. Like those great actors, who can haunt and live inside their characters, Rita haunt's her music's character and the expression becomes more authentic, more natural. At 1:10 a tender little sound escapes before she starts singing again. Un-notated it had to come out. Equally she will rarely extend a word to make it fit the music. She'll do what ordinary folk do, she will repeat it for emphasis, disbelief, regret, whatever. Far more often she will deliver an emotionally significant line with greater concern for it making emotional sense as speech rather than making it a musical device, like most jazz or opera singers.
