What an amazing solo. I think people should take away the fact that although it might not be flashy or ridiculously fast, it's soulful and emotional. The licks/phrases all intertwine flawlessly to form musical ideas that make sense. In a guitar sub-culture where many guitar solos are overly technical and self-indulgent, this one really stands out to me.

well I believe half of the most known guitar solos by the public are very emotional, such as probably the most known, Stairway To Heaven. And fast and aggresiveness can be completely powerful and emotional as well just like slower solos. Pat Metheny is my love though when it comes to guitar solos.

That was really nice. Ritchie is such an exciting and diversified player, going from rock to blues, classical. You name it, he excels at it. I have been fortunate enough to see Ritchie live 6 to 8 times with Purple and both Dio and Turner versions of Rainbow and he was always someone you couldn't take your eyes off of on stage. A true guitar legend!

Blackmore have the rare ability to take his time in a hurry and think before he play, this explain his genius for melody improvisation. Too many musicians instead rely entirely on muscle memory in that they repeat scales. Technically correct, however without a soul.
