This interview is amazing. So much to learn first hand about those days. Hmm .. nobody is like Ritchie Blackmore! He's the one. Respect!

WOW! I haven't seen this in ages. It's in my VHS collection somewhere. Thanks for posting this.

The band mentioned by Rich at the start of the interview is "mountain" fronted by Leslie West. They played at woodstock but disbanded in 1972. They were awesome and can properly described as pioneers. They were before Zeppelin, Sabbath and Steppenwolf. Mountain were the first.

i like Ritchie's expression when he says what happened when the guy told him about the neck at 5:53!! xD and also about the thing at the headstock! xD at 6:57.. and also the quote "to annoy people". x]]

I'm just surprised he has some old strats that he hasn't broken!
@ratbatblu12 жыл бұрын
He did up through and including In Rock (when he used his Gibson ES335). When he used strats during In Rock he used Marshall's. Once he stuck with strats full time in '71, he stuck with Marshall's until '94 when he switched to Engl.

ratbatblu no those were marshall dummies with vox ac30 circuitboards. He was endorsed by marshall but hated every amp they made for him, so they just put an ac30 in a marshall chassis

To me In Rock is the hardest, Fireball is the most interesting because every song offers something different and Machine Head is the best as a unity! 3 GREAT ALBUMS!

Blackmore is the only guitarist who can play Smoke On The Water and i enjoy listening to it ..anybody else that plays it just makes me say.."You're Not Ritchie Blackmore!"

A really interesting video. Could someone please tell me the name of the band Ritchie mentioned in the beginning (not Vanilla Fudge but the other). Tried to listen to it a several times but couldn't hear the name. Probably mountain something.

Ritchie looks and sounds good in this interview. Ditch the mustache, gotee and girl (OK she can watch from the wings) and pick up with the old bandmates and let it RIP! C'mon Ritchie, do at least one rock tour every 2 years.

@assa123assa123 Actually he used a strat and a semi hollow in the early days. Look harder.

ritchie is god! ditch Candice and get some kind of Coverdale, Hughes, Blackmore, Lord reunion. That would be awesome!
@BozCobra16 жыл бұрын
Candice Night is hot and Ritchie looks better than before too. It's strange, but he really looks younger than when he was in Purple.

I hope the poor guy did`nt get the strat smashed over his head after refretting it.

I think Blackmore did not like Fireball because title song is biggest rip off in Deep Purple s history.Even their version is masterpiece.

That guitar is as old as she is.

"we did in rock, which is one of my favorites. then we did fireball [gillan's personal favorite], whick is not one of my favorites, and then we did machine head, which, again, is one of my favorites" blackmore loves to hate gillan!

I think he's talking bullshit here. We all now that purple started with smthg like gibson semi-hollow and he switched to fender to follow Jimi. I also can't imagine someone evening the fingerboard after scalloping. they would simply replace it with new or it would be too thin to scallop again.

wrong on everything. educate urself about the guitar as instrument more before u call bs ;)
