The parents should be ashamed of themselves, she got admission for Medical school and they decided against it for her for their own selfish reasons and because she was a girl. Now suddenly there are proud of her after she became successful without their help. Shame on them! Worst is it is women holding women down, in this case the grand MILs who are on their way to their graves preventing another generation of women to get an education and become successful, and prefer they struggle away for another generation i poverty. It takes one generation to educate the next generation to college level to rise all future generations out of poverty. However, if they hold the next generation down, then it will take another TWO generations to rise out of poverty!
