I've stayed there twice, and wouldn't think about going any where else! We were in the adult only section, with a view of the ocean. We didn't have any problems, but when we were there you needed dinner reservations, they had to sittings to choose from! When we travel we always stay at the RIU PALACE'S, as you get extras that the other RIU'S don't have! It costs a little more, but well worth it!! The staff was super friendly!

Great review 😍 on the resort since the pandemic . I am going on November with adults. I personally prefer Playa to Cancun. Not sure how 5th Avenue night life is since the pandemic. If you stay at a RIU palace you can also visit the RIU properties in Cancun so we will do a day trip to RIU Palace Peninsula and Las America’s. If you haven’t already look into the Xcaret parks your family will love them ❤️. Safe travels and best wishes.

When we visited, I don't remember cold pools being a complaint of ours. The pools had a nice temperature for the kids and adults.

The Riu Palace mexico is in Playacar. Just south of playa del Carmen. It’s the luxury hotel district of that area. And about a 30 min walk to playa. Just so people know. A very very safe gated area and a gorgeous walk

This is a wonderful review. We will be there 7 days on the last week of July. We are concerned about the sargassum and wish you would talk more about the beach and beach amenities like bar and food service?

The beach was beautiful! Great for walking, playing and sports. There is a nice outdoor grill by the beach for quick bites to eat. My favorite was the row of hammocks in the shade for relaxation!

I just got back from this resort yesterday and it was crazy fun. Did you ever check out the lounge 24? Honestly in my opinion the most underrated place in the whole resort. Me and my family had fun there just chilling and playing games that we brought. I definitely agree with your kids about the fruit punch. It was the best.

Hello,Andy this will be our first time at this resort. Can I ware a polo shirt and docker style shorts with closed toe loafer’s or do I need slacks at restaurants for dinner? Me and the wife have been to a couple resorts that have had strict dinner dress codes . Great video review thank you.

When we visited, we did not have to wear slacks at the restaurants. Shorts were fine.

Enjoy!! Unfortunately, we did not visit those other properties but the Riu Palace was very welcoming for kids. The kids club was a bit lacking though.

Expensive but worth it! The all inclusive environment is excellent for families
