Like the only option for super effective damage in FRLG (when you pick charmander) is to go west of Viridian City and after facing off against your rival's Lvl.9 starter, you can catch a Mankey and use Low Kick or Karate Chop if you have it leveled up to Lvl.11. Still wish you could just get a Nidoran instead but hey, at least you can catch one later

Yeah, the mega moves are only worth taking as inaccurate, but powerful moves when you take them right then and there. The next time you're likely to go anywhere near Pewter city, you likely have Strength which is literally mega punch but 100% accurate, and in Mikey's case, the only pokés that would've learned mega kick would've been Nidoking (who learns Thrash at level 23), Snorlax (who belly drum sweeps anyways and had Strength/Return at that point iirc) or, the only sensible option to teach mega kick at that time, his Pikachu if he had decided to keep it on his squad a bit longer.

Here's A moveset for a Snorlax: 1.Yawn 2.Rest 3.Sleep Talk 4.Giga Impact(since it has a better physical attack. So, Basically in a battle u use yawn first after the pokemon attacks first since many pokemon are faster than snorlax. Then if it is a super effective hit then u use rest and it will heal you. Now both are asleep so u use sleep talk which will choose giga impact and it will be big damage. But if u want u can use belly drum after using yawn instead of rest. U can using giga impact which will obliterate the pokemon with +6 attack boost.

Honestly the fact that they hit almost everything neutrally makes normal moves really good as a secondary type, stuff like stab body slam or hyper voice can be really helpful for covering Pokemon that resist your other stab.

16:45 Do we wanna talk about Ground types vs Electric types?! I had all THREE of my ground types in my Y Nuzlocke lose to Electric types. The first was in Clemont's gym when his Magneton lived a dig because of Sturdy and the crit my Krokorok with a magnet bomb. Next my trapinch got crit draining kissed in Valerie's gym by a Dedenne. Next up was my beloved Mamoswine who had been crushing the life out of Team Flare until a random Manectric obliterated it with a Flamethrower. To this day, I still stand by the idea that Ground is inferior to Electric in the Kalos region

Having an eeveelution would be a good idea for a challenge like this because Flash lowers Accuracy, and Last Resort is pretty powerful. There's also moves that don't miss like Swift.

If you like Machamp so much you might like the death battle Machamp is in, the personality they gave the pokemon really fits and made me enjoy Machamp more (since I never got to use it growing up having no friends to trade machop with) Edit: also this playthrough he did inspired me to do a challenge of my own using "underdog" pokemon. The ones noone wants to use, rattata, weedle....thats all iv'e caught so far

You're not lying that Raticate can do some damage if enough time is put into it. I recently played through FireRed using ONLY a Rattatta that eventually evolved into a Raticate, something inspired by a character in the manga, just to see if it was possible. It was, but it took A TON of grinding.

i remember always using Butterfree to beat Brock in Yellow. If memory serves me it learns confusion at lvl 10 the moment it evolves into Butterfree. It needed 2 turns to knock out Brock´s pokemon (maybe 3 for Onix) but was at low risk of getting knocked out itself so it was an easy win.
