This is the version of Rival Sons that I miss. I loved it when they had more R&B and soul music influence in their music in addition to the hard rocking Led Zeppelin type stuff.

I know it's a James Brown song but they play it like a combo of Janis Joplin and Zeppelin's "Since I've Been Loving You" and "Dazed and Confused"....This is throwback stuff that is so refreshing to see today...

+stallswan you hit the nail right on the head......but I LOVE it!!!! I love them! OMG!!!! I am 45 years old, and feel like i have been waiting for a newer band to play some real music again. This does it fo rme.

Listen to the live recordings of the MC5 doing James Brown and, Ray Charles...they just give er as they did...not trying to seem "soulful" I get the same feel here. Aside from the sound man's clumsiness, the band is just playing with their own vibe. And, the vocalist just deals with the challenges because he is 1) awesome 2) into the moment completely 3) focused 4) a pro...not gonna try to cop out due to uncontrollable circumstances

Without question this is the best band on the planet. Somewhere Jimmy, Robert and John Paul are sitting around and saying "phew...thank god SOMEBODY gets it man". It took me too long to find out about them, and that is just the start of what we should ALL have in common with Jay, Scotty and the guys. These cats should be selling out stadiums so go and see them NOW...catch up and get the albums. Thank you Rival Sons, and to the rest of the world...you're welcome.

When I first found out about theese guys no one I knew or met have heard about theese guys.I ofcourse recommend them to all my friends and people I meet and they always love it. They have so much feeling in their music. Now 3\5 people I meet have heard about them and I think thats AWESOME. They should be on top!

Great performance. Too bad the mixer cuts Jay's volume at key moments in the song. Jay uses something called 'Microphone Technique' where he positions himself at the distance and angle appropriate for what he's going to sing. Just keep his fader up.
