Rivals of Aether: Dan Backslide in Super Mario Bros. (World 1)

I don't even play Rivals of Aether, but to see such a niche character like Dan fucking Backslide added into Rivals, in ADDITION to playing through a NES Mario mod with fully recreated levels, is just... holy shit, I am both so confused and amazed right now. If you showed someone this 20 years ago, they'd probably have a brain aneurysm, but I LOVE the insane level of detail that went into Backslide's moves and animations.

As someone who's old enough to have seen the golden age of Mugen which was honestly not that far from that amount of time I can tell you it was definitely pretty mind-blowing back then, at least to me.

The fireballs make his jab even funnier. Also, 2:25 is perfect. 3:39 is also nice.
