Just fyi on Martinelli's foot injury in March it was a deep gash. He was totally unfit when he came back as he could not even walk on it as the gash kept opening up. He came back not up to match speed. In 2024 before his injury he was getting his form back.

I hate when people say the team with more chances were the better team. Putting away your chances IS PART OF YOUR PERFORMANCE. If a student gets 100% on all assignments but gets a 0% on the final exam, they fail. You cant now say “well i should be top of my class, i just failed the final exam” (equivalent to “we had more possession and more shots, we just couldn’t finish our chances”). To say Aston Villa's midfield was "cooking", is doing to much. Villa Sat back at home and executed a midblock similar to what Porto did in the champions league last season. Terrorist football, they even were diving all over the place and causing constant restarts which broke our flow. The way our team was playing, we seemed surprised they weren't pressing as much and were happy to concede possession. I think Tactically, Unai Emery pulled a fast one over Arteta, but the quality of our players won us the game. Also there is no defending Martinelli for that performance today, sorry, we are trying to be the best team in the world, and Nelli ain't cutting the mustard.
