Now i will be very pleased to get that new Riven. I have also played Obduction and Firmament more recently. I remember that Riven gave me headaches, god some puzzles were really hard when nobody had played it and had a clue. Now it's different, there are guides, videos and tips on the net. I remember that when i had solved the game, i replayed it, capturing a video of the whole playthrough, i still have the full movies that i made of all those games. That was before KZbin was a thing.

In the opening sequence, there's a portion that in part state in the "AGE'S". Few people realize exactly what is ment by "THE AGE'S". The planet we live on is referred to as Earth today. And the planet is envolved in what laymen refer to as a wobble or in scientific term's Precession. Which in a nut shell, mean's if the Norhtern geographical pole is that of basically facing away from the sun as it orbit's it changes from being away, to being half way, to closer and then again to half way and eventually totall away again and again...The cyycle of precession is some 26,000 plus or minus a few year's in duration. That work's out to be using the Earth circumference, one degree every 72 year's. Which when doing some research, would put the star known as VEGA being the Norht Stat at one point in the process, and now Polaris, which though still extremely close to being true North of the geographical Norht Pole, but know longer exactly true North. One degree every 72 year's doesn't seem like very much and goes pretty much unknoticable. But in the long run mean's that if one in a location today is enjoying a warm/hot summer day. Some 12,500 year's ago or some 12,500 year's from today, that someone, in the same exact location would be enjoying a cool/cold winter day. Which though only one degree, doing the math mean's the climate in relationship to an area today, isn't to one degree the same as it was 72 degree's when one does the math and figure's, how far in mile's one degree of our circumference actually is. Doing the math, one degree work's out to be some 69 slightly plus mile's. The wind blown on a mountain one degree every 72 year's differently. Lead's to the wind on the alee side being slightly different. OF all the biological life form's on Earth, though we now number some 8 billion today. We are far from being the largest number's of biological life form's. In which the climate effect's. The supposedly reported as lessor form's of biological life, simply adapt to the ever so slowly changing in the climate due to precession. No other biological life form is concerned about time line's or duration's some longer, some shorter in the changes to the clmate as we human's are. It is stated and mandated to believe that only human's have a purpose, it's also we that have any care about time line'ss and or duration's of the various cycle's, Mother Nature provide's all biological life form's. Though it is the search for Purpose that has caused us to go from what we once were, to what we are now. With all of man's history to compare, if there is an actual purpose to our being, I'd spell it "G R E E D". Nothing else has led us from what we once were to what we've become than the advent of civilization's and there complete dependence on their economies, which can and has eihter made or braked a civilization. There's "NOTHING" more important to a countries success or failure then its economy. And haveing a good one verse a bad one basically depend's entirely on their being profit's. Having more than one need's and obtainabliltity of what one want's whch are two insanely different obsession's. Makes having more insufficent when one want's vs need's more. That's the ensense of GREED!

honestly... i don't like how they replaced live acting.... that took away from this game
@newYorkStories5 ай бұрын
I don't care what everyone says, but these 3d animated characters are not doing it for me. The great feature of the original Riven were the live action video clips. The Artus intron alone made me lose interest. Sure, it works on a VR headset now, but it will look very odd that you can walk through a 3D space with the world around you looking super realistic, until you meet a human in there, and we are thrown back to 1998.

I dislike the original FMVs being replaced by these 3D models. Looks really stiff and unrealistic. The lighting is off. Way too bright. Having a "full 3D world" to walk anywhere destroys the original game's movie like cinematographic direction, you were SET to certain frames. Highly atmospheric. World felt bigger and more threatening. This has been replaced by a go anywhere "blogger with a handycam" kind of feeling in a game designed to be the opposite of that.

So! Why not read about why The made something. Then make a stupid comment and say that it was forced. Becouse that is bullshit. The fmvs are to low quality to put in a 3d game of 2024. And it would not function in the VR version of The game.
