This game takes me back... Went to Babbages one day to browse and saw it on the shelf, used for 20$ for ps1. I already had myst. This was before the information age online and didnt even know there was a sequel. Took it home and was amazed it came with 5 discs. Played it for the entire summer of 98. Even relocated the ps1 closer to me for easy disc swapping. It wasnt until my buddy bought the walkthrough guild book that we progressed. Still have the ps1, games and guide book to this day

I can say i was the first ones to play the Riven and the community were so small, who passed this game was a hero, a masterpiece, you mentally evolve passing the game solo, is a matter of patient...

I'm playing through this on PS1 currently. Can't seem to find a 100% walkthrough? Hopefully this will be it. Need some help here and there. No one does the big stone orb clicker puzzles. I can't figure it out solo to save my life.

Great walkthrugh .. Thanks ... don't want to watch it .. yet... :-) Hay.. anyone out there know how to quit the game? I just downloaded it from Steam.. and everything seems to work .. just like the first 6 minutes of this video.. Unfortunately.. I can't figure out how to stop.. and quit the game.. ESC doesn't do anything.. How do you stop and save for the next launch? Thanks, regards, Michael

TheOvermaster Thanks Overmaster .. turns out it was a much bigger problem.. I'm using a Steam download of Riven.. and running Windows 7 .. when you tried to save a game in the Data file.. it just didn't work. After much research .. this was the solution: (From a poster on the Steam Forum) "Go to the folder where the saves are supposed to go. for me it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Riven\Data. Go to the data folder there, create a new text file, and name it .rvn. After that, when you try to save using the Alt menu (the bar at the top left of the screen highlighted by clicking the mouse up there, and choosing save or saveas) it should now show up when you click on 'data'. I can't load the game from the menu screen, but it's works fine opening it from the Alt menu. I did not have to install Quicktime or run in compatibility mode." Many people often have problems with Riven working well, after downloading it from Steam.. and Steam isn't much help .. without the Forum .. nothing would work... :-) And, yes.. I didn't know about the bar at the top left of the screen .. perhaps that's part of the Riven experience.. Start knowing absolutely nothing... :-) But then.. there is a Riven manual in the Riven folder... sigh!
