Quest Games Optimizer can remove the ugly foveated rendering, usually without any performance issues on Quest 3. Or even increase the rendering resolution. It's unfortunate to need it in a new release, but I'm glad there's something.

Got any config suggestions for QGO on this one? I haven't done any DIY tweaking for games, usually just leaning on published profiles. Everything the guy in the video says are true about graphics, and I'm hoping for a fix. There's also water desync that seems to be getting common in game-remakes (where one eye and the other see slightly different renders of water, leading to nausea if you look at it). Does QGO have a solution to that?

Tried pc flat version in uevr and it looks amazing. Can't wait for native version on pcvr

Released tomorrow. Because of my time Zone. I have to wait 12 hours to download. Very excited about this. I played this when it was first released but that so many years ago and I have forgotten so much of it. It will almost be new to me. In VR it will be amazing.

Hopefully when this comes to SteamVR, it runs better than Firmament did! Also, there are rumors of Firmament coming to PS VR2, but I hope Cyan drops that idea and instead tries to get Riven on PS VR2, as Firmament seems halfway finished while Riven (at least in its original version) seems like a complete game.

The characters don't make shadows. That's a bit jarring to me. Hopefully the PC ver is much nicer. FYI: PC version is Non-VR demo only for some reason.

Thanks for saving me money yet again! I'm not supporting any game developers if they can't use the power of the Quest 3! This is just pure laziness. Red Matter 2 is the same kind of puzzle game yet looks fantastic!

Red Matter 2's graphics are state-of-the-art for Quest 3, not a baseline standard, and the developers spent countless painstaking hours developing custom shaders for Quest 3's SoC to achieve its visual fidelity. Red Matter 2 also isn't a 9-12 hour long "open world" game with multiple mocap characters and support for PC flatscreen. I can guarantee it isn't laziness on the part of Cyan, who is also a small indie dev team. Just different scopes of games. I trust they're doing the best they can. Have a bit of compassion.

@SamMaddie2 Is it open world? As far as I know, it's like myst. It "looks" open, which is the idea but is actually linear. Graphics look great on screen, but not in the headset is what I'm saying. Regardless, so many games come out but aren't truly finished. WE buy an unfinished product and then wait months for them to polish it up with patches. Why this is common practice in the gaming industry and everyone accepts it is beyond me. Maybe because I've been playing games for over 45 years way before the internet could patch games. The games had to be completely finished before they were released. That's all I'm saying.

@@moibuspm It's open world in the sense that all 5 islands are visible and loaded in at all times and, once you get into it, can be traveled between in any order any time you want. There's somewhat linear progression to the puzzles (though there are honestly several that can be solved in any order), but the game doesn't lock you into a linear path or prevent backtracking to anywhere you've already been, which makes performance much harder to optimize for. And I hear what you're saying, but my complaints in that regard are much more with games that charge full price for "early access" or buggy AAA games that severely need patching or rely on their fans to mod in fixes. Riven is fully playable, everything fully works, and graphics look amazing on PC which is what they really optimized for. Getting a game like this on Quest 2/3 was always going to be a challenge, especially for an indie team and I applaud them for even trying, even though sacrifices clearly had to be made.
