Would you mind sharing the colors and painting method you used for these?

Sure thing. The idea is royal blue and silver. I use gold for any chain mail or any small decoration like on the elven helmets. The armour is made up of three silvers any three will be fine as long as you go dark to light. Same for the blue, pick out a blue you like and dry brush your way up with a highlight keep the same blue and add small blobs of white. Pays to paint in the shade with a dark blue rather than use a wash on the cloak. Face and hands is just a pinkish flesh. I only used nuil oil for the silver washes and reckland flesh shade for the skin. Hope that helps you out.

I prefer Galadhrim elves for their appearance (the metal ones look great) and their heroes (Haldir, Rumil) are pretty cheap and effective. But competitively I think the higher defence of high elves is worth the extra few men you would be able to take with Defence 4 Galadhrim 🤔 love the twins too

Hmm, now I am unsure whether I should paint my High Elves' armour silver or gold.

I would want to achieve the hue their golden armour has in the movies, which I won't imagine being that easy though.

+1GoodRiddance just paint it gold then wash it with either a sepia or reklin flesh shade. they look great after gives it an orange gold effect .

Warhammer did the same thing. Dummies who make these games, make archers worthless. HE archers especially. The race that should be absolutely dominate gets relegated by nature of the game to being most effective by NOT taking archers. That is how you know you have failed at game design. Literally pathetic. Make the archers more expensive pts wise if you have to, but don't make them worthless. An elven army that is better without bows or is being outshot by dwarves or orcs, means you have failed utterly at representing the race in game play

Your right I think it's a tough one any rule you give them makes them too good and not giving them anything makes them feel abit meh. I feel the volly fire rule would be good and make is 2+ on your shot value.

The only thing that is literally pathetic is how annoyed you are over this. There's a thing called balance. If elves were as good as they're meant to be with bows, they'd always win and the game would suck.
