River King Mine Train Front Seat on-ride POV Six Flags St. Louis

In 1984 this was converted to one of the first stand-up coasters in the world, but it was converted back to a mine train at the end of the season due to problems with the stand-up trains.
Six Flags St. Louis is located near St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri.

I went on this ride two days ago for the first time and I did not expect the end! I just rode it for fun. I was in the back and I heard some guy up front scream at the end and I say "wait, what?" and I drop! It felt like you were really falling! I loved it! I love the feeling inside your stomach when you drop as well. I would recommend it :)

Never understood the "hate" for SF St. Louis. Many solid enjoyable roller coasters, collection of rides (though honestly some of the maintainence nightmares can go), Boss is AMAZING NO RMC. Fix Ninja (Vekoma vest restraint trains, reprofiling) and get a free spin and/or RMC single rail and the place would literally be GRAND (as opposed to pretty nice). Also some others (SFDK, SFFT) get so hyped up they dissapointment many traveling with there season pass access.

i remember when i rode this for the first time about 2 or 3 years ago with my boyfriend, i started crying (i was like 18 or 19 lmao have bad anxiety) and then the ride started and i had a BLAST. rode it so many times bc i couldn't get enough of it. not scary at all!

Rode it when it was Rail Blazer. Personally, I think the "accedent" was the fault of a beligerant rider. When both Mine Train's were running, that was too cool. Unfortunatly, the one that got sold to Dollywood, and I believe is now opperating in Arkansas, was the best of the two.

This was my first coaster my mom told me that it was the train that went around the park and not a roller coaster and then I saw it once I set down and I asked the lady strapping us in “is this a roller coaster?” She replied with a smile and yes I began to cry and then I realized how fun it was and I forced my mom to stay in line for this ride to ride it over and over again crazy that I haven’t rode it in 7 years

Man, the idea of making any ride purposely a stand-up aside from a bad 90's fad blows my mind. Thankfully it didn't last and returned it back to normal in this case. Several Togo's and B&M stand-ups (and one remaining intamin stand-up) can really benefit from being sit down (looking RIGHT AT YOU Georgia Scorcher, 2019 repaint SHOULD"VE BEEN CONVERTED). Also these wooden-steel hybrids of arrow days are always fun and cool to see where they will go, hug the ground, etc. Also noticeable that this park once got one of these brought to it yet they used the same name for this one.

I recommend this as a first roller coaster. It was my first. And, the drop isn't that bad, it's just like any other drop. Then I would recomend the Screaming Eagle and then American Thunder.

When I used to visit Six Flags Over Mid-America (what it was originally called) as a kid in the '70s I was afraid to ride this. It originally had two separate tracks, kind of like Space Mountain, and for some reason it looked intimidating. The funny thing is, I avoided the mine train and made my first ever coaster the Screamin' Eagle, even though it was way more intense. Loved the ride on the Screamin' Eagle, though, and have loved coasters of all types ever since.

This was my first roller coaster yesterday, and it was pretty fun. A roller coaster doesn't have to be scary to be fun. Oh and I also road one other coaster yesterday, and that was the screaming eagle, and only because I was lied to about how high it was and once I saw it my friend dragged me onto it ltierally kicking and screaming.

@thisislandearth They get special permission weeks in advance before filming. I don't know how secure the camera is, but they've made hundreds of videos so far and haven't Final Destinationed any rides yet.

Opened in 1971 as the park's first roller coaster and is their tamest of the today's lineup of 9. But it is still a fun ride. When people ride it for the first time, they calculate the ride's peak intensity based on only being 37' above ground ride's peak intensity only to be suddenly surprised by an unexpected 41' drop in a dark tunnel toward the end of the ride.

BackSeatJunkie The "other side" was moved to Magic Springs and Crystal Falls in Arkansas after is was done operating at Dollywood. Sometimes the "other side" of a twin or racing coaster can be better for some strange reason. ;-)

This is my home park and people say this so the best mine train because the drop at the end and that’s not correct. A. Other six flags parks have better ones (this ones in the middle). B. The best mine train build and the best mine train built by Arrow is located in their own state of Missouri at Silver Dollar city called Thunderation. It has a height of 110ft and the speed of 48mph it’s the tallest and fastest mine train according to RCDB. Oh and the helix is amazing. Don’t get me wrong this is still fun but it’s not the best.
