This is a great show! No hype or clickbait. Just fantastic adventure well recorded, by an expert who knows how to communicate. We get to see people and places in living context. Plus some great fish stories.

those bitestories at the beginning in germany sound like either defensive bites or curious bites to see if they where edible. could also maybe the fish was protecting eggs or something.

Slovenija has big fish we call them Som, the same fish as you were fishing here, from 220 pounds up to 280-300 pounds if you have the luck. they eat dogs birds everything like you said, stinky chicken livers are the best for fishing them, or just whole chicken. usually, if you go for 250 pounds or above it is good that someone is with you and holds you because they pull people in already and they need to drop a fishing rod into the water so you don't drown, people tie themselves to a tree, who are the adrenaline maniacs :-D

I caught several of them. The largest with 163 cm in a lake in Belgium more by accident as I was fishing with deadbait for pike. I doubt that they are maneaters. I saw one attacking and devouring an adult duck but I think that they prey on humans is legend. The problem is that the nests are mostly in very shallow waters until the end of july and that these fishes protect them very aggressively. Well, shallow water... summer... that's where and when people go for a swim.

not that crazy that fish ate men in medievel times, humans back then used to kill eachother all the time. a lot of those bodies where dumped in water.
@djdeemz76516 күн бұрын
We say it’s violent today but in medieval times pretty much everyone had at least one family member who had been murdered by someone, everyone had blades and it would have been easy to get away with back then you would need to be unlucky or stupid to get caught
