Despite this being 1 of my favourate episodes, I am VERY glad I live somewhere that's too cold for most dangerous things to survive. Not having bull sharks in my waters is what I tell myself whenever tears fall from my eyes from the cold. 😅

A Jaws spin-off featuring a bull shark would probably revive the series. Jeremy being in it will guarantee 3 parts in 3 consecutive years.

As a teenager I went night fishing on Queens Cliff pier Geelong as I'm an Aussie from the state of Victoria. And my dad had 2 12ft rods hanging over the side. ONE did a into the water. He managed to get the rod back & reel it in. Only to find it had AN EAGLE STINGRAY on the end of it

I grew up in South Africa and regularly spent my school holidays at my aunt and uncles place in Port Alfred, on more than one occasion while fishing a few kilometers up the Kowie river I had big fish on the line and had them bitten in half by something unseen, my cousin always said it was probably a big Bull Shark, they were regularly seen and caught at the river mouth...

im so glad there are no sharks or crocodiles or any maneaters where i live😭😭😭 the most dangerous animals here (except people) are the mosquitoes which can give you dengue or malaria

Norway has massive sharks but they're Greenland sharks and Basking sharks, both larger than Great white sharks, but essentially harmless. So I'm happy about that.

Why do people even go near such waters? I know shark attacks are rare but so i being struck by lightning and yet we dont go about rainstorms on open terrain like its nothing
@iggywow13 күн бұрын
Same reason surfers go out or you maybe go out on your bike or in some form of motorized transport on the road, it's overall very safe. Going out in a rainstorm with lightning like that is going out towards an obvious danger, your odds of being struck by lightning on average is very small, your odds of being struck by lightning during a local rainstorm and putting yourself in that situation is much, much higher. These sharks may be in that river, but they have been for a long time and yet no attacks seem to have been reported. The enraged locals are just lashing out because now they're aware that the sharks are there, even if they have caused no harm.
@fistrexx13 күн бұрын
@iggywow yeah maybe i phrased it badly. Im not talking about this river in particular but maybe more about all rivers and other dangerous bodies of water too. And not only talking about fish but about anything that lurks there and also about force of the element itself. And also how helpless people are in water compared to land. Rivers are not dangerous because of one particular reason, I think they are because a lot of reason stack up really fast. And if something happens then on land im safe as long as there are people but if im on water then I need to get to the land first. Water is just scary man
@iggywow13 күн бұрын
@@fistrexx I agree with that, oddly enough the main danger about entering water is the water itself. Currents, tides, waves, temperature, that sort of thing. Maybe pressure even, like with divers going too deep depleting their oxygen supplies faster than anticipated and can't get up.

As someone who fisherman the "Breede river" regularly. Jeremy is surprisingly accurate with the pronouncing. Yes Dutch people would say Braid eh. But in Afrikaans it is said Breed eh river.

We have a house at Witsand Breede River, people still swim in that river - maybe now they wont, we call the sharks under the boats, the "Taxman" as you have to sometimes loose a few fish to the shark before you can land a whole fish
@midnightspecial382710 күн бұрын
I personally have caught two shark's in the Breeda River, I just cut them free when I got them to the boat, I don't want to land shark's as they mess up the paint and stink of ammonia when you bleed them.
