To be honest, for a moment I thought this might be another KZbinr doing a book reveal/show; derivative. But no, it was absolutely fresh, authentic and original. Very, very well done. Please do more such!

Bryan, it was great to hear Curran's own words talking about the project and how driving was at the root of his journey. Thank you, as always.
@BryanBirks2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Diane. I’ll probably talk a little about it myself in the future but for this it just seemed right to have only his words and thoughts. A lot of similarities between his work and my own. I can only hope to get on his level with understanding people and the nuance around them.

@@BryanBirks It's interesting you say that because, as I was listening to him, I felt there were similarities also in some of the how's and why's.

Here's something interesting. I have searched for photography related content on KZbin for a couple years. Never came across your page. Two days ago I deleted all but 50 of my subscriptions. Only then was your page suggested to me. This is exactly what I've been looking for, less interested in only gear focused content, but more about the process and getting turned on to other photographers. You do a great job on your pieces. You create a wonderful vide with your choice of music and your pacing. And I've already discovered a couple of photographers that I love, Mark Steinmetz for one, and now this Curran Hatelberg. This is what I love about Alec Soth's channel, but his uploads are less frequent than I can consume.

There are loads of photo book reviews on KZbin. Many even set to music. This didn’t come across as a review. Not even close. Just a period of immersion into the artists work. Those moments where the camera lingers on images instead of moving on and the narration by the author without seeing him prevents the viewer from immediately displacing the images from their minds and emphasise the power these images convey and represent. May I ask if these images were made with film and if so large or medium format ? There is a lot of warmth in them. Thank you.
