River to River Trail | Thru-Hike | Day 2

This is a documentary of my first solo thru-hike attempt of the River to River Trail through Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. On day two, I start at Buzzards Point near Garden of the Gods and hike through Herod, IL, One Horse Gap, and make camp north of Benham Hill.

Great work! i usually camp in Panther Den and you are correct the only time to be in those woods is the winter time. The ticks spiders and snakes make the forest very unpleasant in the warmer months!
