I can usually get away with a point 4 float as I use the whip as it says. If you have nothing behind you, you can”whip” the rig forward, hence its name. Love the squirrel fishing, hardly a time goes by when I’m not attempting to catch one. Nice video thank you

This kind of whip fishing is the most popular fishing in China, Taiwan and South East Asia...nowadays. One can search "Vu Mon Fishing" in Vietnam as a good channel. Note that float balancing is very special technique.

Well done Kayleigh . Great video and a nice net of fish . It's good that you appreciate different styles of fishing . Match fishing seemed to go through a phase where it was all commercial carp fishing - certainly where I am in Lancs , anyway . I wasn't the only one to get bored and move onto different branches of the sport . Love the rivers nowadays 👍

I love whip fishing and I don't need a catapult if there's no wind as I can throw loose feed quite a long way with my left hand due to many years of stick float fishing on the Trent and Newark Dyke back in the 80's and 90's.

Excellent, I’ve never fished the whip, but I’ve just gone out and bought one. One trouble :- no decent rivers down south, except for the Thames and that’s 11/2 hours away. Thanks for the information.

Would you prefer to use olivettes or shot on a whip when fishing on a commercial please...I have a new whip and not sure and in general ...what is the maximum size of fish to swing in..( 5m whip ) Thank you JONATHAN
@AnthonyWilliams-ew3wp3 жыл бұрын
Personally, I’d be cautious about using a whip on a commercial. It’s really for smaller fish although I have caught bream to 3lb on mine. Don’t forget, there’s no elastic and if you hook an 8lb carp, it won’t be pretty. You’ll likely snap off the tip.
@AnthonyWilliams-ew3wp3 жыл бұрын
Me again. As Kayleigh says, in her example she used a 2g float. So she used a 1.75g Olivetti and some no.9 shot down the line. You can bulk the small shot or put them in shirt button pattern. The latter allows for a gradual drop. Good luck and all the best.

No I have left mine as standard I prefer it to taper to a thin end so it’s softer for small fish
