I did some work there a little over a decade ago. Some of the folks I worked with told us about the huge fish in the canals. They had a great story about a foreign engineer who was dead set on catching a huge fish. So they let him fish for one in the canal, with a plan to sample the fish for radiological effects. The story goes that he hooked into a big one, way bigger than he could handle, but he wouldn't let go of the rod. His escorts were holding him by the feet to keep him from being pulled into the canal by the huge catfish while yelling at him to drop the rod. We bought a bunch of old bread at the cafeteria and were throwing it off the bridge. By the end of it we were tossing entire loaves into the canal and the big cats were inhaling them.

This is pretty old stuff. They stopped pumping water into the pond in 2011, and it's dried up so it's about half marsh now. The cooling channels were dammed off from the pond years ago and have a much lower level of water in them, too. The pond and channels would be dry if not for rainwater.

Don't know if you ever heard about the GIANT Catfish that roam in the waters under the Hartebeesport Dam in South Africa. My family have always had members in the South African Police Service and as a result we always had contact with Police Divers. They always told us about what they experienced while training there and the fact that they never wanted too work in the Dam after their training is the best reason I have for believing them.

Funny how the scenes with the Hippos and Crocs you don't ever see Jeremy and the Hippos in the same frame as each other. Almost as if things are being portrayed to look significantly more dangerous than the reality of it that he's most likely in some sort of motorized boat that could get away no problem. But that would never happen right? They don't fake content for TV, everything you see if 100% legit and real on TV 😅😂

@sasquatchdonut267420 күн бұрын
To be fair we have. Look at people with African ancestry, they evolved to live in their humid and hot climate with some of their body features. People of European ancestry evolved for colder climates and you can see that in their body features
@SKISER8320 күн бұрын
We are.. it's just fast enough to witness before your eyes..
@isaacneale623519 күн бұрын
The next evolutionary change that will be able to be witnessed will obviously be the integration of the human mind into computers or fusing with computers. That’s the only logical next step we are surely at the peak of man’s physical capability yet our knowledge is yet to grow and that will never stop so we need bodies that will never stop such as AI or integrate our minds into robots seems fun to me.
