River Oaks is a church plant of Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Knoxville. It began through a committed effort of prayer by families meeting in small groups in Maryville. Launched two weeks after 9/11/2001, God raised us up with the hope of reaching Blount County in the Spirit of Isaiah 61:1-4.
Jesus used these verses to describe his purpose as he launched his own ministry at the beginning of Luke 4 when he declared to the people of Nazareth, “Today these verses are fulfilled in your hearing!” We are thankful for God’s sustaining grace, since our beginning in 2001, and we are excited about the future.
