What I like about TXT is that they're so refreshing!!! Their sound, choreography and look are so different from the groups in K-Pop. I feel that newer groups have the same sound, choreo and concepts of groups of K-Pop in the past, and it's the same every year. I appreciate that they bring something fresh to K-Pop. I think that that's what BigHit is trying to do with their groups.

#BlackCulture yes! Everyone was twerking to this song when it was released. Indeed the black people who listened to cat & dog loved it and said it's their favourite song! They felt more "at home" with the style used. I'm black and I listened 5secs of the snippet back in March and I said YEP THATS MY SHIT.

It's a really hard af song but it's literally so cutee like the lyrics are GREAT. So the video actually works very well with the song because it had both a mature kind of aspect but as well a very refreshing youthful vibe. Also it has a small stiry line so .. Yup

Kpop in general originated as a genre after being influenced by hiphop and jpop. Hence its an amalgam of so many genres and there's hip hop influence in most songs. I personally loved this video. It matched perfectly with the song. The whole purpose of this track is to transcend the cookie cutter mold of a hip hop music video. And bighit did a great job by not pushing the kids towards a forced "hard" concept. The lyrics are witty and the video is cute. Perfect!

I think this song is a hit or miss. When I first listened to it, I wasn't hooked. After I saw them perform it live, I got more into it. I like the fact that they have a boyish charm to them. They're young so they should embrace youth as a concept as it fits them perfectly right now. Personally, my favorite song from them is Our Summer! You guys should give that a listen :)

You need to know that TXT debut album has *00s r&p and hip hop style.* So embraces a lot the black music. If you listen to blue orangeade and our summer they have definitely 00s style, a big throwback! Nap of a star is a ballad and it has Alicia Keys vibes. Cat & dog is trap hip hop. I understand Dizz. I personally loved the juxtaposition of the song and M/V but I knew immediately that it would throw some people off. I'm actually surprised that I liked it so much, it's a strange combination but I found it charming. And I can only attribute that to TXT'S talent. Yeah, this song didn’t really do it for me either, but maybe I’ll like it more live, since I’m seeing TXT at KCON NY this weekend! Would you please check out another rookie group from this year, Trei? Trei is a male trio and their main vocalist Kim Juntae has a beautiful and powerful voice! He actually sang vocal guides for BTOB (also vocal kings) and Pentagon! I really recommend their song Gravity (warning: the mv is low budget cause they are from a small company) and their cover of Night Rather Than Day by their older sister group EXID. The youngest member Changhyun produces all of their music and actually wrote Night Rather Than Day! Thank you!

So....I have a theory.... I totally get why Dizz & Zak didn't playlist this particular song... it's because this style or genre doesn't quite seem like it would be what TXT would normally make...but, TXT are basically the little brothers of BTS, and BTS has a thoroughly rich history of hip hop, and I think there was somewhat of an obligatory feeling to Cat & Dog, just to make the statement that the legacy of BigHit and BTS can be trusted in the hands of the next generation: TXT :)

Garret Burrow I think it’s too early to tell what kind of signature style TXT has, and it may be intentional cause if you listen to the dream chapter: star, every song is a different genre and has it’s own feel to it. Maybe I’m biased cause cat & dog is one of my favorites but I think they pull it off well. The intention of the song was to come off as a trap/mumble rap style because that’s what’s popular these days. Yeonjun really loves this song so I hope they make more like it in the future without people thinking that they’re trying to uphold a certain image. When BTS started as a group they weren’t as strong vocally, and the original concept was a rap or hip-hop style but as time went on they evolved musically. The 2013 BTS would never touch a track like BWL. It’s important to note that BTS is known for their versatile discography, but I would say their legacy continuation is more fit for a group like Stray Kids, who speak about a similar topics and have a similar style as debut BTS.

Changbin and Suga's rapping style are similar, but Stray Kids have more of an EDM influence, something more closely resembling BIGBANG, imo I'll be waiting to see hoe TXT evolves over the next year, tho... should be interesting.
