Z-girls (and Z-boys) is a girl group that consists of 7 girls all from different Asian countries minus Korea (Indonesia, Japan, India, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam, and they’re under a Korean entertainment but their part of a new genre called Z-pop that sounds like kpop essentially but it’s in English. It is called "Z-POP" from Zenith Media Contents, a korean company, which trained them in the same process as their favorite kpop idols. So its not a surprise that you'll see them looking like a kpop group. So far they have two groups: Z-GIRLS and Z-BOYS that makes them Z-STARS. They are from seven different countries (Philippines, Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan). In terms of promotion they actively promotes in their countries when they debuted and expected to continue promoting in both korea and ofcourse in their countries now that they comeback. And also a reality shows which is airing right now and you can watch it on youtube. All of them really represents their countries and I'm proud to stan them. Y'all must watch them! They are all so talented and the fact that they are trying their best to communicate with each other despite the cultural and language differences. There will be a second batch of z-stars. Also the Z-Girls and Z-Boys are meant to be a new group that represents Gen Z (the 1997- 2004 gen) bc we are more diverse and united by technology etc. So a Korean ent. label "Zenith Ent." decided to launch a pan-asian audition "One Asia One Dream" to find talented ppl from 7 asian countries and make them into kpop stars to spur a more diverse genre of kpop. There are already many successful kpop groups with chinese and thai members. Z-Girls and Z-Boys each have one member from: Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Philippines. They busk in Korea, they're based in Korea and promoting in Korea, so even though their debut was in English I think they're expected to do more multilingual releases soon with their debut album.
