I just discovered you. I have watched a few of your videos. I really like them. They are good and informative. I feel like it is just you and me in shop. We are having a cup and coffee and just talking. you are showing me your tools and how to use them. Thanks. You now have a new subscriber.

Another excellent presentation. The time you take to do this is greatly appreciated. I hope to minimize mistakes by watching as many videos as possible. I actually was looking at purchasing one over the other. Your insight opened my eyes that both are needed. One for it's space advantage the other for freeing up a hand and speed. PRICELESS INFORMATION!!!...Thanks

After month of research i came to the conclusion that if a tool exists, you likely need to own it.

Great video as always. At least for me, I still have flex with the 3 inch yoke on 1/8 rivets, and prefer to use 1 1/2” yoke wherever I can. Thought I could get away with 3” yoke but changed my mind.

Yeah, there's def some flex but for most rivets the minor flex doesn't matter too much. The 4 inch is way too much flex :(

How easy is the main squeeze on the number 4 rivets? I am building an RV12 and I can not get the number 4 rivets with my current hand squeezer. Or should I just get a powered squeezer?

Super Video Guil! Thanks for adding the tool links in the description. I also need to buy a bench grinder and I saw yours in the background in the video. Can you tell me the brand and do you use an electric hand grinder as well?
@BuildFlyGo4 жыл бұрын
The bench grinder in the back is a refurbished Skill I think? Absolutely nothing fancy about it. I have a pneumatic Sioux 90deg angle grinder that I use a lot. I did not find a good electric version and the Sioux works great. I want to say it's this one: www.browntool.com/Listview/tabid/344/CategoryID/163/Level/a/ProductID/1120/Default.aspx

Where did you get the rebuild kits from . I’m having a hard time locating a kite. Ty

Try Cleaveland, they might have them.

Nice presentation Guil, thanks. I'll start that process in a month. Could you link the brands and sources you got the tools you use (Riveters)?

Good catch, I just added those to the video details, thanks.

Guil, I’m really digging these series. I purchased a pneumatic squeezer. It has the signs of someone possibly putting air tool oil in it. UGH. I don’t think it’s in need of a rebuild. It can squeeze a -4 fine but at times I notice a bit of inconsistency. I’ve mostly chalked it up to the adjustable ram, which is a huge time saver, but how did you know yours were bad? Would they not squeeze at all? If possible could you describe ways of being able to tell one is going bad?

The ones I got obviously needed a rebuild, they would barely move. I got the seals from Avery at the time and it was pretty inexpensive. You can try reaching out to CP directly and ask about a rebuild kit. Here is the exploded view for the current version, which I suspect is mostly a model number change: catalogs.cp.com/files/cp/6159924770.pdf

Looks like they have. "tune up kit" part with all the o-rings and seals: 6153996450

Did you consider getting a Numatx squeezer?
@BuildFlyGo4 жыл бұрын
That's an excellent question! They really weren't a thing when I started building the 9 so I already had the regular squeezers when we started the 10. I've never used one but if the Numatx folks want to send me one I would be happy to try it out :-D

Does anyone know if this would work for the new Ford F-150 rivets aluminum
@BuildFlyGo3 жыл бұрын
I suspect it’s mostly rf welding and no rivets in the f-150
