Now that I think about it, I don't think it was ever stated how old Petra was. Like, she is obviously a little older than Eren. Maybe very early twenties ? Like 19 or 21 ? Anyways, Levi obviously felt SOMETHING for Petra. That look he gave when they had to dump her corpse back in Episode 22 kinda proves that. I guess we'll never know. By the way, Isayama actually confirmed that Levi has never been in a romantic relationship. So, the guy is a virgin in his late thirties and then a virgin in his early forties after the time skip. Man. Poor Levi. Not even ANY kind of release for him. Anyways, yeah. Good work, as usual. And in case I don't get to say it on the day itself, I'll say it now; I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year :)

You too and Thank you! Yeah, Even I admit, in canon, I don't think he really realized his feelings until after she died. Honestly, I've dated someone with a significant age difference (I was 21, he was 28, so technically not as big as Rivetra, but I've seen different articles aging her as old as 27) so the age difference really doesn't bother me much. I'd like to think if she lived that they'd develop a relationship. Her dad bringing up the letter may have set something into motion, but it's unlikely since Levi is just generally really bad with social interaction. There was so much potential for the two (I won't get into why I'm still salty about squad Levi because this'll turn into an essay) and it bothers me so much that they just anbu black ops every elite squad, like "Hey, this is squad Levi. They were chosen because no matter what the horrible shocking abnormal titan or how close the comrade that was killed was, they can easily push emotions aside and "hit the ground running" so to speak. They can take care of Eren in Levi's place if things go out of hand while he's not the-and they got emotional and died because Annie pulled a fast one." I mean Guther was kind of screwed from the get-go and Eld isn't out of the realm of possibly, but Petra and Auruo should have been fine gathering themselves, so I call will eternally call 100% bullshit on Petra dying.

@@SangoNanami I never meant for it to sound like I had a problem with the large age gap situation. I mean, as long as the youngest of the legal age and it isn't sleazy as hell or a one sided fantasy for either person, there's nothing wrong with it. Hell, it's a lot better than a legion of underage horny girls shipping a man in his thirties being in a sort of BDSM relationship with a fifteen year old boy. I mean, I know they're just drawings, but the idea is still a bit "ohhhhh….". Meh, I suppose their just shippings of fictional characters, so it isn't hurting anybody, so I shall not judge. And about Levi Squad. I'm actually gonna agree and disagree with you at the same time. While they are handpicked elites by Levi himself, they do have their shortcomings. Like, they are absolute masters of teamwork when it comes with dealing with Titans and Abnormals. All of them have their strengths, but at the same time, they still have that emotion and reluctance of "sacrifice" where as Levi does not. Well, he does, but he has learned to mute it for the sake of his sanity, but at the same time, that muting of the emotion has took its tole on him. Like, he has a permanent vacant look on his face because of this. So, while Levi has that, Levi Squad still have that horrible feeling in their guts when it comes to their comrades dying for the greater good. Like, look at their faces in Episode 18 in Season 1 while Annie's murdering dudes left and right behind them. Petra, Ouro, Eld and Gunther have a look of pure disgust on their faces while Levi just keeps moving forward. Like, they CAN mute their emotions to a certain extent, but they still have a visible look of disgust and guilt on their faces. The four just don't have the thing in them to disconnect emotionally like Levi and Erwin do. With all that said, we now get to their deaths. Now then. Gunther was kinda "taken from behind" to an extent because he was not excepting a fellow "comrade" to cut him down like Annie did. So, that death, while sad, seems legit. Eld, Petra and Ouro actually done something that could be the most impressive thing in the series to date. See, Gunther was taken out unfairly. While Eld, Petra and Ouro managed to face Annie in her Titan form. They have all faced Titans and despite Annie being a weirder than usual Abnormal at the time for all they knew, they put up one hell of a fight. Like, with just the three of them, they managed to down Annie and they would've dealt a lethal blow. But, because she has Shifter specific abilities, so in her case, the ability to focus healing on specific parts of her body, she had an unseen advantage that Levi Squad couldn't have possibly known of. Like, again, they were the best of the best when it came to killing Titans, but, Annie wasn't just a Titan. She was a Warrior that was first harshly trained by her father then she was selected for the Marely Warrior Program and got Titan Powers too. So, Levi Squad were up against something that displayed things that not even Titans they have faced can do. Like, she flat out ignored the time rule for healing and managed to murder Eld. With that death right in front of their eyes, they understandably shat their collective pants and Petra freaked. It was something she didn't see coming and her rational thinking was overtaken by genuine human fear and confusion. So, Annie took that split second of panic and used it to put Petra in that eternal yoga postion. Ouro saw that and was on the edge of freaking, bit swallowed his fear and nearly took Annie out and would've taken her out if Annie was a normal Titan, but again, she was something entirely new to what they knew, and in the moment of thought, took Ouro out. In my eyes, thry were all the best Titan slaying elites that Levi picked that went up against something that was far more deadly than a Titan and unfortunately, lost. It sucks major dick, but it was yet another reminder that they all live in a cruel but beautiful world. Fun fact, the first episode of Attack on Titan I ever saw was Episode 21. I had no idea what the hell was going on, but the music and voice acting blew me away. So, I joined the series after seeing the slaughter of Levi Squad. Actually, maybe that isn't a fun fact. P.S. You subscribed to me ? Wow. Thank you. I dunno what I did for that, but thanks regardless :)

@@dubhbubonem6561 sorry, I didn't mean to sound as agressive as I did. But I have to say I have an insane amount of bias when it comes to Petra, so I think what you'e saying is definitely accurate, I'm just being a baby about it to be completely honest. My biggest pet peeve with Isayama, though, is he's doing the killing of strong characters so often to show how cruel the world is, it's irritating sometimes. Marco, Squad Levi, Mike, and (spoiler name withheld) were shocks , Mike's squad was pretty fitting since if they DIDN'T kill someone off, Ymir transforming wouldn't have as much as an effect or necessity. Hange's squad was meh because that was an awesome way to introduce Kenny (a little sad about Nifa because of this headcanon I have, but that's a story for another day. The other deaths just sort of seemed to go downhill from there. Maybe it's just because I'm quick to jump to conclusions or I'm just a really picky film student, but by the time we got to the latest major death, I just got fed up. I don't know if you watch American Horror Story, but there's a moment that shows perfectly how I felt at that point. This older lady walks into her grandson's bedroom and he's killed another one of many people. She gets frustrated, and says "For once, can't you just maim someone?!" I think it's definately a good choice to kill people at certain intervals, but it would be interesting to show more people injured by titans. For instance, Petra being the only survivor of squad Levi, but her back was broken and she either has to have time to heal or is permanently bound to a wheelchair. That's why I love the dis-arming (ba dum tss) of Erwin because for once in the series it wasn't just endless slaughter and (spoiler event, you know what I mean, before the time jump) for the same reason. So yes, Isayama does maim, but he should do it a little more often instead of just the endless slaughter. Then again, that's what makes AoT so great in the end. It's a realistic world with no happy endings and they make a good point to drive that home. (sorry if this seemed all over the place. I haven't slept in a while lol)

@@dubhbubonem6561 also I subbed because you're really awesome to talk to, especially about aot stuff. It's really rare to find a fan that wants to talk about aot without an obsession towards one certain pedophilia/bdsm-based ship. Someone who genuinely cares about the show, past shipping and all. You're really smart, and patient enough to explain stuff to me, even after I rant about it at first.

@@SangoNanami Well, first off, nah. You didn't come off as aggressive at all. You came off as passionate. That's partly why I love talking to you, too. You're passionate about your feelings and thoughts and you're not afraid to get them out in a bold manner. It's so refreshing to have that and for that, I thank you. Please, never stop being you in that regard. And F.Y.I, a baby is a man who one compared me to a Nazi because of my opinions of this show, so you being passionate about what you have to say, it's wonderful (not to mention adorable) so I'll love it if we continue our verbal battles in the future. We're basically Dovahkiins. And about Isayama. I actually get how you feel 100% about his constant grim reminders. Like, I'll defend them all the time, because in the theme of his story, it does make total sense. But, I also hate seeing characters I love bite it. Like, to this day, I can not watch Carla Jaeger die without tearing up. Like, I went through it once myself and then I watched it with my mom, and she was never much into anime. And guess what, since that opening, she was in tears. She was hooked. I think that's what's so effective about Isayama's style. He isn't afraid to flip your world upside down and keep you guessing where things happen. He has balls, so to speak. Like, back in Chapter 105 when "MEAT" happened, I actually remember people getting beyond upset. Some were saying they were dropping the series, which is fine, there's no hurting anyone in that. And then there were the individuals that said they hope Isayama dies slowly of cancer and he's nothing but a money leech. Now, don't get me wrong; I was devastated when "MEAT" happened. I was unable to smile for a week afterward. It was pretty similar when I first reached the end of Season 5 of Game of Thrones. It just emotionally wrecked me. That being said, I never once wished any sort of malice on Isayama. A real human being. And neither did you. We were able to tell the difference between fiction and reality. But we still love the characters, and the strong reaction over the death of one shows how attached we were. Like, let's say he kept specifically Petra alive. She is bound to some sort of support system. Yay. She's alive. But then Levi feels never-ending guilt over her current state and struggles to make decisions logically because, since she's alive, his untapped feelings for her could blossom. Now, while that does sound sweet, it could also be seen as very cheap and a cop out. Like, Petra dying, along with the rest of Levi Squad gave Levi the rage and determination to take down Annie after Levi Squad failed. Like, remember the scene where Eren's fighting Annie and Levi passes the bodies of his old squad ? The looks on his face tell it all. He's absolutely devastated. Then he gets to Petra. He has his usual vacant look, but his eyes are burning with rage. So, while seen as incredibly cheap for Isayama to make Petra x Tree a reality, it actually gave him the motivation to take down Annie singlehandedly. It was the same as Marco. While he died off in a very anti-climatic way, his death greatly changed Jean. Like, at the very start of the series, Jean is an arrogant douchebag who is all for himself. And after the Battle of Trost and losing Marco, it motivated him to become better than what he was. Like, you see what I'm getting at here, every death has its meaning and purpose in the story. None of them felt like a throw away. Miche's death was to show off the Beast Titan's danger. Like, Miche was second only to Levi, and to see such a pillar of strength to be torn apart by a pack of Titans while he screams for his life was a brutal but effective way for us to understand that the Beast Titan isn't fucking around and gives us easy reasons to wish for him to be taken out. Nanaba, Gelgar, Henning and Lynn was as you said, it was to make Ymir's transformation all that more meaningful and impactful, and it fucking worked, because holy shit. And yeah, Hange's Squad was a pretty awesome way to introduce Kenny as an important threat. And of course, the Battle of Shinganshina. Now. You mentioned the maiming of Eyebrow, but that itself is actually genius, because Isayama could've let him die there for shock factor, but instead, he gave him some time and it lead to quite possibly my favourite quote and moment in the whole series: "RAGE, MY SOLDIERS! SCREAM, MY SOLDIERS! FIGHT, MY SOLDIERS!" Like, even if you aren't a fan of Eyebrow, how the hell could you not feel the weight and sacrifice of that ? It was so much more meaningful. So, while I don't like seeing my beloved characters dying, obviously, I understand what Isayama is doing with each one, and with each unfortunate death, it paved the way to this amazing story we have so far. Also, thank you for being so kind to me. I was never much into shipping honestly when it came to stuff I liked, even that, the only thing I liked was Historia and Ymir, because it was adorable and they were a confirmed couple. And the Annie and Eren. The only reason for that one is small manga moments that were cut in the anime and I dun no, I always thought they would be cute together. Mind you, with the way Eren's heading now, I think romance is the last thing on the dude's mind. But yeah, thank you for talking to me. The feeling of enjoyment is mutual and I hope we can continue it in the future. Once again, please enjoy your Christmas and have a great New Year :)

@@SangoNanami *AHEM* There is the scene in Episode 21 during the Female Titan Arc when Levi stops to see Petra's dead body. Even though he says nothing, you can just see the sadness in his eyes. Second, in Episode 22, Levi takes Petra's badge from her jacket. If you listen closely you can hear the piano version of Call Your Name in the background. Also in Episode 22, there is the scene when Petra's body is thrown off of the cart. In the manga, the scene was never drawn into the manga, most likely signaling that Hajime Isayama sat down and told the directors to add it in. Then there is the infamous "letter scene" with Levi and Petra's father. During an interview, Levi Ackerman's Japanese voice actor, Kamiya Hiroshi says "リヴァイ的にはペトラ気になりますよね (REGARDING LEVI IT’S PETRA THAT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT.)". The voice actor absolutely adores Petra.[1] Another quote is from Petra Ral's Japanese VA, Natsuki Aikawa. She says in a tweet “Someone told me it would be exciting (moe) if Heichou pushes Petra against the wall (kabedon). I understand! Totally understand!” (This is a rough translation). I believe that this quote pertains to when Petra tells Eren not to be scared of him, and Levi and Petra are left alone in the same room.[2] Lastly for quotes, is what Author, Hajime Isayama, says in a Q&A. Question - “Does Levi think of Petra as a cute subordinate even a little?” Isayama - “I think I have portrayed such thing in between the panels.” - Hajime Isayama admits that there was a connection between the two. [3] As well both of the English voice actors have said the word about these two. During the SacAnime Winter 2015 - Attack On Titan Panel, the English voice actors for Annie Leonhart, Mikasa Ackerman, Petra Ral, Levi Ackerman, and Armin Arlert were asked who they shipped in the show. Nobody knew how to answer the question until Lauren Landa (Annie Leonhart) said, "I honestly can probably see - well not anymore, but Petra and Levi.". Matthew Mercer (Levi Ackerman) says "Yeah, I could see that too." which is responded by Caitlin Glass (Petra Ral) with "They would be like the cleaning King and Queen[4]. Also, during the Attack on Titan panel Q&A at KrakenCon 2014, Matthew Mercer and Caitlin Glass were asked to improv a scene where Petra confesses her feelings to Levi.[5] The two had teas together late at night. In Chapter 112, Petra appeared at the center of Levi’s memory as he remembers his dead comrades who sacrificed their lives protecting Eren. On Petra’s birthday card, it was confirmed that she was the one who picks out Levi’s clothes. For Hangeki no Tsubasa’s 2015 Valentine’s Day event, Levi can be seen opening his gift from Petra as she stands next to him, blushing. 68.media.tumblr.com/c6478c3ef5b445a11e3cb1dfbc3a2f29/tumblr_o49u9f7JtY1qbw8o8o1_500.jpg 64.media.tumblr.com/d9a6f7ea0d44adf8c0bddf08a32c61bf/tumblr_oropy2DU5N1uo7v48o3_500.jpg qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-6dcdbf9218ce8be19592f1a1a1dde6e0 Petra has a character song in Linked horizon's Shingeki no Kiseki album, Souyoku no Hikari (The Light of Two Wings) which sings about her feelings toward Levi. Petra served under Levi in the Survey Corps and was later hand-picked by him to be in his first Special Operations Squad. She harbored a deep respect for him and was proud to be a part of his team. Levi seemed to trust her and her capabilities as a soldier, as she held one of the highest records for killing Titans (48 assist kills and 10 solo kills). After Petra was killed by the Female Titan, Levi guarded her body until the Corps had to retreat back to the Wall and was horrified after her father informed him of her intentions to dedicate her life to serving him and the squad, possibly because her father assumed that she had feelings for him. And lastly in Petra's letter scene it said that she was going to devote herself to Levi, devotion is a word often used for romance or love. devotion /dɪˈvəʊʃ(ə)n/ Learn to pronounce noun love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person.

So, Sango. Remember my theory on the father of Historia's child and her pregnancy ? Well, I've had this sudden feeling in my gut when it came to the father. Everything in my original theory still stands. But, change out Wesley for the father. Thanks to the recent chapter, I now have a sneaking suspicion now that the father is actually Floch. Why ? Well, my original theory works, but the one major flaw in it was that Eren and Zeke wouldn't know for sure that Historia and Wesley would smash. But, if perhaps one of the main members of the Jagerists were to determine the pregnancy, they know for a fact that he would get it done. Mind you, it isn't rape, since the idea of Historia being in on it but being upset because of what I mentioned from my original theory still stands. So, yeah. I have a gut feeling that it is Floch. I can't explain why I do but he's my newest suspicion.
