I think Sandy didn't have enough faith in the capabilities of the Rivian in the start of the off road session, and that's why he hammered it over the logs. The rest of what was caught on video was fine to go a little faster. But logs are just like rocks. If you push too hard, they will push back until you regret your choice of speed. Crawling over the logs would likely left no dents and dings. But hey, kudos for testing it the hard way. Put it to it's limits. What an exciting truck. Ford lightning kind of looks old in the shadow of Rivian. But then, I have not tested either yet.

This was a great test. In order to shut the tail gate you had to get the pallet in beyond that panel that bridges the gap between the tailgate and the bed. I had something similar happen to me. It was a pallet of landscape blocks. The driver wanted the pallet as far forward as possible. The tailgate limits how far you can go in with the forks supporting the entire pallet. So I did what your driver did, backed out and lifted on half of the pallet and pushed it in. It was going well till the pallet broke. No broken window, but lots of crashing blocks!!!

That air ride is the best suspension. Big trucks have been using it for years. I have used a forklift to load pallets in the back of pickups. If a pickup bed is not smooth and you have to keep moving the forks back on the load to get it all the way in, there is a good chance that will happen. Also, have to be very careful to not dent the tailgate. Just get out the duct tape and cardboard and cover the back window opening. Hang in there Andrew. lol

12:53 “Him and I will be at an event ... if you want to meet up with Sandy and I...” Normally I don’t comment on grammar but since this is an engineering channel and you guys appreciate precision and correct tool usage, hopefully you can indulge my pedantry :D What you should have said is: 1) *HE* and I will be at an event 2) If you want to meet up with Sandy and *ME* A typical sentence can be broken down as Subject-Verb-Object. 1) the Subject is what performs an action (I, You, He/She/It, We, You(plural), They) 2) the Verb is the action (go, stay, eat, give, run, sleep, talk, imagine, formulate, pontificate, etc) 3) the Object is what the action is done to or which “receives” the action (Me, You, Him, Her, It, Us, You (plural), Them) Pronouns are the problem here and that’s where errors tend to happen, but subjects and objects can be anything. In “the dog ate my homework” the subject-verb-object is Dog-Ate-Homework. In “Sandy wrecked the Rivian” the subject-verb-object is Sandy-Wrecked-Rivian. Getting back to the problematic pronouns, we don’t say “give I money” or “call I tonight” (incorrectly using Subject instead of Object). We say give me money and call me tonight. We don’t say “me is bored” or “me will wait here” (incorrectly using Object instead of Subject). We say I am bored and I will wait here. There’s been a growing tendency in recent years of people INCORRECTLY “correcting” others, admonishing them that “it’s not you and me, it’s you and I”. Well that instruction is simply wrong because the answer is IT DEPENDS. It depends on whether you’re talking about the subject or object. Sometimes “you and me” is correct. Sometimes “you and I” is correct. A *little* knowledge (emphasis on little) is a dangerous thing.

would be helpful if you told us what driving mode youre in, suspension height and any other driving features you turned on or off. that load test was very impressive.

Rivian if your watching,I think that the most impressive torque needs to be turned down a bit in the slow speed 4X4 mode. It seemed that Sandy took a lot of damage to the truck because the instant torque made the truck jump instead of slowly rolling on the power. Maybe add a ROCK CRAWL mode where the power is easier to modulate , its very important at times to not make sudden accelerations or tire spin . Though it could be said that Sandy had a heavy foot either from lack of recent wheeling, or maybe it's just his driving style offroad . Any vehicle will make it up an obsticle with enough speed and momentam , but at the risk of vehicle and maybe personal damage. Being able to drive up slowly and saftley in control without jerky movements from the drivetrain shows up the vehicle and drivers ability much more. LOVE that you took it out and gave her the beans, though you edited out way too much of it . Maybe 20 min of off road, and 7 of the load carry would of been better [ my opinion and point of view ] . CHEERS AND KEEP UP THE GREAT CONTENT Steve h.

There is no way he had it in Rock Crawl mode that is for this type of terrain. You have very fine control with a lot of accelerator travel at low speed. My bet was that he was in offroad and was hitting the accelerator hard.

Not overly worried about the glass. Corey OUR Rock star did quite well and drove the truck with the glass and came back with a shining star over his shoulder as usual. Nice going Corey, those racks at the back are mainly for show, I doubt that they actually do anything to protect glass or paint. In fact Sandy might notice that the glass may have twisted in the frame which didn't help it retain it's integrity from those logs jumping up and down around the truck. as robust as the Rivian is, I am surprised that nothing else was damaged or broken. That truck may take quite a beating and still stand up to anything thrown it's way. But any vehicle being tortured is bound to have some breakage at some point. Great Video as usual, keep them coming, I watch every episode and tell people to click the like and Subscribe because of valuable insight gained is worthy of the time spent.
