I loved Rizzoli and Isles from the beginning and still watch the reruns, over and over. Every character is perfect for their part. And everything about their friendship and how they work together, each using their specific capabilities is wonderful! Great show!

I know to this day there is fraction of the audience who didn't feel like there was a need to make the show romantic but it genuinely FELT romantic. Not because of any of the reasons I know people believe some of us seen it that way but just more of an energy.

Yes! You accurately described it. It felt romantic by their energy and kind of.. got a little help from the script. But it was not supposed to get real on the screen.. maybe it would've ruined the show.

Holy shit. First of all, Angie Harmon is DREAMY. I can't take my eyes off her. She is perfection. Second of all, why does sasha keep saying things or giving comments that are really, REALLY, gay??? Third of all, THEY ARE A PERFECT COUPLE. I don't care if saying this is unethical (since they are both married and have kids on their own) but HOLY SHIT REALLY they are THE perfect couple!!!

Very nice interview^^ I really enjoyed it. They seem nice persons in real life :) I love Rizzoli & Isles. It's different than the usual crime scene/detective and I always love strong female characters. I'm such a sucker for that =P Their characters also sometimes remind me of my two all time favorite characters ever on tv (Xena and Gabrielle from Xena Warrior Princess) and I mean that as a compliment :P I love how hyper Angie is :) I love hyper and cheerful and energetic people^^ I have not seen much off-screen of these two bur from what I have seen, Angries hyperness really remind sme of my idol in real life, Lucy Lawless :) She's also so hyper and cheerful and energetic^^

Some 10 years, or more, later I have watched just about every episode of this show. Theirs is a wonderful example of love and friendship ever presented in a world of extreme stress. The ironic friendship between a Doctor of the dead and what amounts to a serial killer. Yet Rizzoli is still adorable and Isles is wonderful. PS I won't see 70 again.

A blind person could see, from the propped up, naked leg, that Angie Harmon is attracted to Sasha Alexander, and not just in the series. Alexander has a great pedigree, and Harmon is blatantly a Leo attracted to pedigrees. Sasha is hot as hell, too, and again ... I'd have to have a lobotomy to miss that Angie is, in real life, very attracted to Sasha. I can't fathom why anyone with a beating heart wouldn't be attracted to Angie Harmon because she's pretty much perfect.

@chocherits I believe she meant "straight" as a comedy term. In comedy a "straight" character means a role that's non-comedic. Basically, I think she's saying that the characters don't have to serious all the time. They're fully developed female characters that can be funny and serious. Her quote is "I mean we laugh a lot... we have like, we have a fun time, you know it's not like just these straight women..." As a side note, I totally think of Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles as a couple ;).

yeah, it s good that the producers keep it non-openly-gay, for me its enough with the STRONG-ELECTROMAGNETISEXUAL FIELD that surrounds them every time they speak to each other, look at each other, and specially when they smile at each other like flirting without really flirting...I love their onscreen interaction, I have only seen that in "I cant think straight" with Sheethal and Lisa. So keep up the good work my ladies :-) I absolutely love you both.

Interesting. In other interview with Harmon I saw she came accross very feminine in a professional way, like a classy Hollywood actress, really super different from the character of Jane. Here she seems more similar to Jane, with substancially more masculine body language, facial expression and just the way she expresses herself, chewing gum and stuff that is not classy ladylike.

THIS is lecturing you. they were simply stating they enjoyed the show and felt the writers did a great job while also stating the author of the books happens to also enjoy what the writers did with her characters. if you read other stuff, you'd see WHY they picked them to play R&I. its their personality. looks didnt matter. it was just a bonus to the great chemistry. personality does matter right? or just how they look? :)
