If the line was set at -3 it would get steamrolled with OSU bettors. Bookmakers want equally balanced betting because they make their money on the vig, which they collect no matter which team wins. OSU winning playoff games in double digit so 9 1/2 will achieve the bookmakers goal. A large pool of bettors hate to lay points higher than 3. So they'll bet ND. There will also be a pool of bettors that see OSU's superior talent and have no problem betting on them. Notre Dame deserves respect for getting this far. And to this point OSU is playing like the team we thought they would be before the season. Keep your money in your pockets and ride the lightning of great competition.

There are many things can be said about the cotton bowl. I also believe Texas is an over all better team than ND. Better dl, lb, db's, ol, qb, wrs, and te are all texas players. OSU played a b game at best on offense and still won by 14. I believe that and what they did to UO is why the spread is probably close to right imo. However I could also see this game looking like the games fr9m the first two rounds if OSU score early and often.

Oregon scored 32 and 21 vs Ohio State. No one else has scored more than 17 against the Buckeyes all year long. It's hard to win games scoring 17 points. Can be done. 2 missed FGs held the Buckeyes to 10 in their other loss. Notre Dame has the 53rd ranked offense. Ohio State's is 30th. Notre Dame's defense is ranked 9th. Ohio State's is 1st. ND needed everything they had plus poor wideouts for Penn State to slip past the Lions and great defense and special teams to trip Georgia with a backup QB by less than 2 TDs with PATs. Even controlling the game vs Indiana they still only won it by 10. Can ND win it? Sure. But they'll have to play out of their minds and both penalties and the bouncing ball has to go against the Buckeyes.

ND is my 2nd favorite team. I still think there is a huge talent gap across the board & most importantly experience playing elite teams this season. Even Ohio St 2nd & 3rd string can beat ND. SCORE PREDICTION Ohio St 49-14. The spread should be 35. 1st ND: They have major injuries to their best players #1 DL out w/ injury, #2 DL was injured & missed last few series vs Penn St. RB1 Love is playing hurt. Their QB is scrappy but throws for only 100yds & runs for 80 is mediocre at best. SCHEDULE: Georgia this year was NOT #2 team in country & SEC is down. They should have lost to Kentucky & Georgia Tech & never made it to SEC championship. They played w/ a 2nd string QB w/ no exp. Penn St had NO WR. They always lose the big game. Indiana got blown out by Ohio St was a paper lion filled with good, disciplined player but NOT 5-star talent. So, who's elite this year? Ohio St, Texas, Oregon & Ohio St beat both of those teams. I'm not trying to knock ND; it's just the facts, but we will see.

Actually OSU has world class medical facilities and their football program makes so much money it pays for not only great academics, but also supports dozens of other sports programs for the school. ND is a very prestigious school and I respect that, but it's not better than OSU in any way.

Notre Dame will most likely play man to man vs the Ohio State WRs. If they can keep them in check they will have a shot. Riley will pick up some huge 3rd down runs with his legs, but the Buckeyes will win 24-13

As a Michigan fan, I will say the Ohio State has EARNED its way through this playoff and if they do beat ND, in which I expect them to, then they deserve to be national champions. RJ is correct though that for Michigan fans, the OSU national championship will have an asterisk next to it becuase we beat them and will most likely beat them for the next few tears in the Bryce Underwood era. The nasty defense you saw against Alabama is back almost 99% of it.
