So randomly all my songs are gone. When I go to load my songs they are all empty. Do you know what could have caused this?

Perhaps you initiated a factory reset (pressing ALT+0 while starting up) I could not think of another reason.

@@lxuaes6915 I can imagine, but this report is a first for us as well - the memory does not need battery backup power or something like the original MMT8. You do need to do manual save after a recording (ALT+REC is a shortcut for saving the active song memory)

@@marcopolo4350yes, you can backup whole songs or do a .mid render per part via the browser.

Does song mode allow you to chain patterns together? I checked the manual but it didn't have how to do this. I'm thinking about getting one but I want to make sure it does what I am needing.

Yes it does, a part is then a songstep and each songstep has individual settings for track transpose and mute states so you can re-use and combine track data to create a song

@@RetrokitsDev Awesome! Thank you. Follow up question: If I record the sync out from the RK008 to an audio track, then send that sync track back into the RK008, would I be able to sync the RK008 back to it's own pulse like the old style tape sync without having to use an audio to midi converter?

Actually, nvm! I just saw your video where you sync with reason and I downloaded the syncpulse.wav. As soon as Perfect circuit has these back in stock I'm going to purchase one. Thank you!

@@wrench-dodger yes you can donaudio sync like that, but with a serial-midi bridge like hairlessmidi you can also sync it up with midi, the rk008 also recognizes midi timecode

@@RetrokitsDev Interesting! Thank you. This may sound silly but I use a Tascam DP-008EX, which doesn't support midi. I want to try to do it oldschool like a tape deck and lay down a sync track to then multitrack my synth arrangement and I've been considering the RK008 for quite a while due to it's flexibility.

For this price it should be a complete groovebox not just midi "player" 😂

Correction; The RK008 is a real-time midi recorder, the closest thing we have for a midi player is the RK006 (which is also a multi-connecting usbmidi host, a 12bus usb midi interface and a midi to gate interface plus midi filter / processor)
