RK3 Designs is a learning studio focused on teaching how to create beautiful epoxy finishes using Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy. These tutorials include epoxy countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, and much more. This channel provides tutorials for DIYers, contractors, designers, or artists.
Rhonda Dracoulis Founder and Primary Instructor
RK3 Designs started as a way for Rhonda to showcase her creativity but has blossomed into a way to help others find theirs. Her obsession with painting led her to start refinishing furniture and kitchen cabinets. She found customers wanted a nicer option than laminate but more affordable and customizable than natural stone, which lead her to countertop epoxy! Since then, she’s helped thousands of students, from across the country (and even Canada eh?).

I'd like to throw in some some rust with an unexpected color vein like a slate blue. Maybe a darker base color? Still trying to decide. (I tend to have problems in this area ha ha). I'm wondering if you could pull some unexpected colors for a vein. Would you do that after the epoxy is down or try to lay something down in the spray paint layer? I'm SOOO nervous but your videos are SOOO helpful.

Watched this video about 2 dozen times. So informative and made it look so easy and kind of fun. I was a bit apprehensive, but the more I studied this and a few other videos my confidence grew. Now that I'm done with my kitchen I look back and I'm in awe of how beautiful it turned out. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and making it fun. You are awesome and inspiring.

Wonderful tutorial! Clear, concise, educational and to the point. Thank you for teaching the technique rather than focusing on the entertainment. The process and end results speak for themselves and are the entertainment. Your artistic talents, personality, and teaching ability are the extra sparkle. Also, thank you for the link to true mica flakes. Other companies sell “flakes” that are pulverized powder. When one orders flakes they expect to receive flakes.

Seems like you have more control over pattern and saturation laying down the color before the epoxy. The additional layering on top really brings the finish up to a higher level. This is just stunning. I am sure the camera doesn’t really capture the true depth. I love all of your videos and am so excited when I get an email notification of a new video dropping!! The demos are great and very helpful. I’m truly addicted to epoxy now. I would love to see a video of collection of your finished projects, like the table tops and counters, with the UTC.

I am completely addicted to your awesome talent & tutorials! You are just such an amazing teacher & have a fantastic personality! My favorite part of most of your videos is “I could stop here,,but,,,I’m not”! That is me to a T! You have given me the knowledge & courage to Stone Coat my awful countertops and there is no way I can thank you enough for that! I wish I could come to one of your classes so badly but, I am unable to fly due to disabilities. Please move to south Alabama🙏😂! Again, thank you, you are a fabulous teacher!! I love your hair, too!

I love this design! The layers really add to the realism. I love the Montana Marble! I would definitely do a little bit more of that. I might do the same in my kitchen, but maybe switch the gold for silver and/or pewter tones. I'd probably still have the taupe and sand to make it just a little bit warm... I'm ready to start experimenting! I'd love to see how they full set turns out, with the matte coat too.

Flippin’ amazing! I wasn’t sure about some of the pronounced black dots and particularly the, “scrunched bag effect” for the black accents, but once the epoxy settled down and softened the hard lines, it enhanced the table. It’s possible you could add or remove something, but that doesn’t make it better. Just different. This table is fantastic just the way it is.

You can use just about any type of paint before you pour the epoxy. You just want to make sure it’s thoroughly dry before pouring.

@@RK3Designs this may seem like a silly question but I don't know much about all this but can u do this and the fracturing with alcohol without using epoxy? can U do it with polyurethane?
@RK3Designs
@RK3Designs Жыл бұрын
@@tropicalsweetieamanda4870 no, you’ll need the epoxy to get the same effect. You can use spray paint on a dry substrate then while the paint is still wet spritz with alcohol. This will give you somewhat of a effect but not as bold as when done over epoxy.

I love your design. You remind me of Mother Nature. She does not have any hard edges in the atmosphere. I wonder if you have done something without Mica. I'm not fond of glitter but I'd be willing to try. I like abalone shell, or mother-of-pearl look. Can't wait to do this and send you a video . I'm as sure as shootin' already that I want to do this but I need to do it without Mica. I love love the fracture lines
