They had me from the first note, years and years ago. Fortunate enough to have met almost all of the original lineup. My favorite punk band of all time. They're inked in my skin.

RKL were just amazing; fantastic musicians and great songwriting.. When I was 17, I saw them play here in Germany. It was one of the best shows in my life. "Rock'n'Roll Nightmare" was just out at that time .

Best ever! The band I roadied for all loved RKL (check out their RKL cover: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXOcY4psicyWaKc)... Anyway, we met Operation Ivy when they played Las Vegas (well on a lake bed on the California/Nevada border)... we ended up setting up some shows at Gilman Street through them & even have a few songs on the What Are You Pointing At 10" comp that David Hayes put out right after leaving Lookout Records... Well, one of the times we were in SF to play Gilman, we were hanging at a park and saw a parked van decked out in RKL stickers. We waited forever to see if they'd show up so we could fan out on them... but alas it wasn't meant to be. Regardless RKL were our heroes. I vividly recall when "Rock'n'Roll Nightmare" came out...it was shocking on first listen because Keep Laughing was so iconic and the new album felt like a progressive departure... but after playing it once, we all agreed it was the greatest HC album ever. The comic book brought it all together... I still have the album. It's one I'll never sell.

This band with jasons stage tallent and hus art with his words to music and jason always had somthing to say. To this day sit back and listen or skate to it too. Thers always somthing i havnt heard before. They had a hell of a ride and its so sad how he wS genuinelly had enough trying allthough the options of kiking s opiate with a opiate to this day the state still uses that practice with a 0% sucess rate. In usa every 11 minutes someone dies from opiate realated cause. Government has a new name for it covers all basis (corona virus) or covid 19. Pour some out for our dead himies and wh we live for today and learn from the mistakes they made and be thakfull for every day we are here today. Skateboarding and og punk rock saves lives.

Just in case anyone’s curious the lineup is featured in this video. At the beginning jason talks about this recording so it was recorded sometime around ‘03/‘04. The lineup apparently was jason on vocals, chris rest and chris flippin on guitars, raposo on bass, and boz on drums kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmjVhqOrmZyanbc
@mercurylegion3 жыл бұрын
Jason told me it was the lineup from RICHES TO RAGS because he was too messed up on drugs at the time (much to his regret) so they couldn't be a part of that album. He claimed he recorded his parts later but I would ask Chris, Joe, Barry and Dave since R.K.L.'s history seems to be laced between two histories! R.I.P. Jason, Bomer and Derrick!

Hey guys i tried to write the lyrics of Twisting and Turning. It's just by ear so don't get mad and correct me if you know better! Twisting and turning and yet still i'm learning i keep holding on to this role In the dream i kept falling was calm (?) yet was crawling and this time i can't give up hope (Bridge #1) As i stated before We stand at a doorstep Come on Ask me out Take it in We've few chances left So we must be a dead end(?) No more can we wait Let's Begin! (CHORUS) It's one more time (you see) - Left for you and me Change your roles (Disguise) - Make them realise It's our time (too late)? - So come either way Straight ahead (on track) - There's no turning back Every morning when i wake up, the images of insanity are etched between my mind With pictures of scantily clad boy-bands prancing around on stage while screaming pre-pubescent teens toss their panties in the air AND IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THE WHOLE WORLD'S GONE MAD! Just then i walk out my door to see some young kid with blue hair and nose ring marching down the street defying any authority to cross his path I realize life's not (?) full circle. it's our time again! WE'RE BACK! (Bridge #2) Cause yesterday's calling so don't come out crawling It's time we got up Take a stand! This time it is strue With years overdue Wake up now Ain't worth being sad! (CHORUS) Aaaaaaaaw! We CAN'T let them win(?) Like i said let's begin, and start out by telling the truth! It's still up to us, So hop on the bus! As we take the ride - wait where are you? (?) (Bridge #2) (CHORUS)

Sorry to the contrary information but this sounds like Derrick Plourde on drums and the PRB show they did in February 2001 had Plourde on drums so he'd make more sense if this is really 2000/2001. Incredible lineups they've had over the years.
@myroomstudios7 жыл бұрын
yes in those years Derrick was on drums, Leon and Chris Flip on guitars, Bomer played bass and Jason as singer. Either Lil Joe and Boz replaced Derrick and Bomer in 2002.
