This is from KI Central talking about Mick's Tweet about Spinal's theme! Fact One: Spinal’s new theme was a global effort that combined the talents of twenty people across five countries over three months. Fact Two: The “Spinal Choir” consisted of thirteen men singing in Swedish in Gothenburg. The lyrics were written by Mick Gordon and Pontus Rufelt. Fact Three: The choir is pretending to be warriors who are attempting to summon Spinal to aid them in a foreboding battle. Fact Four: The brass for Spinal was recorded and arranged by Hugh Davies in Guildford, UK. Fact Five: The “horn” sound you hear over the ‘Ready’ text is the sound of a Tibetan Kangling, a human leg bone flute.

This character use to scare me when I was a child. I use to HATE skeletons when I was young and my brother would always use him against me. Though my god did they capture him so well in this game. This music is fantastic too, I love that they kept the old bone noises from the first one in there.

I first heard this when I was in upper secondary school and loved it, I'm from Sweden so ofc it was fun to hear your language in a song I actually like (Sadly I find most of swedish music bad), but at the time I didn't know that it was Mick Gordon who did it. Years later I hear the DOOM soundtrack and fell in love with all of it instantly... AND NOW... even more years later I remember this song and go back to listen... Holy shit, Spinal's ultra combo is so damn hype. It's probably the best out of all three seasons, all the other ultras can barely get me as excited as Spinal's. I can even hear a little chant before the end of the combo that vaguely sounds like a bunch of guy yelling "Don't stop!"

I have to agree with what a lot of people are saying about the themes. Each one brings their own style and personality, fitting the characters excellently. I also like them because they are both very image invoking, or so I see it. I can see this sort of song being sung by a bunch of Viking sailors as sort of an unholy sea shanty, or something like that. Which, of course, with Spinal's pirate theme fits him excellently.

RKosmik I say that it is perfectly fine until they release the soundtrack for purchase. As far as I know they haven't but if they did point me in the direction of it I'll buy it in a heart beat. I mean how else are we supposed to obtain this music otherwise? I just think you should post the download link until the release the OST for purchase then I agree that you should take it down.

Syn Slonca I think that's what this soundtrack does so well in General. It does an amazing job of letting you know exactly who the theme pertains to. Each one sounds so fitting with the character. I just hope they decide to officially release this soundtrack in some form (even if it's not the complete themes that RKosmik put together so I can buy it and support this game in another way.

+jobey burgoon, well they need someone to protect them and they seek revenge on their attackers, so they choose to summon a dark viking-god to help them in battle. Also the viking gods are often very bloody and what other would think as dark or demonic, like Odin imprisoning his grandchildren for eternity for just being born differently. They mirror the harsh society that that worshiped them, and who needed to be harsh themselves to survive.
