What issue have you had with Allan’s falling apart? I know you said they were second hand but what are the weak points?

I was really torn between getting the Allan NC1 or Schuyler Quentel. The navy blue highland goatskin, 36 gsm paper, and speckled edges were really attractive. In the end though I really preferred the layout and typesetting of the Quentel which also exactly matches my Schuyler PSQ making it seamless to switch between the two. If Allan designed a nicer typesetting rather than just use crossway's with a less cramped poetry setting then it would have been a tighter race. I also do feel Schuyler has higher quality craftsmanship as well. But both great Bibles for sure.

I agree with you on the craftsmanship. The text on the Quentel seems a little cramped to me. I can’t tell if the text is to big or if their is not enough line spacing. Defiantly both great options I agree

@@SGRBibles The 11pt font on the Quentel is HUGE, in a good way. It really jumps off the page. Looks more like a 12pt font to me. I know it will be big enough even when I hit old age. I'd love to see an NC1 in person some day.

@@souldier2425 it is perfect for people that like or need large text, do doubt! I think it all comes down to preference. I like 9 pt. Font the best and the NC1 reads close to that. You like the topaz then?

@@SGRBibles haven't looked much into the topaz. Does it have large font? I don't need large font yet gratefully but it's nice knowing I never have to strain my eyes to read the Quentel even if lighting is not ideal or if the book is far from my face like during preaching

@@souldier2425 topaz is amazing! I think it’s 11/12 font and it’s verse by verse

Great review! I don’t have an Allan but looks very nice! Also I think you accidentally put “Allen”
