RLMS: John Bull

The oldest operating steam locomotive in the world is the John Bull, which first ran September 15, 1831 and was later restored and last operated September 15, 1981.

In the 1980s I met the great grandson of the local mechanic that that assembled the engine upon its arrival at the C&As' soon to be shop in Bordentown NJ. It arrived from England with no instructions or plans for its assembly.
